A virus outbreak, global lockdown and several natural disasters later, here is another heartbreaking news that will mark 2020 as a devastating year. Indian Cricket team’s former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has officially retired from International Cricket. This announcement was made public on August 15 through an IGTV video.
Dhoni debuted in India versus Bangladesh ODI on December 23, 2004. Ever since then, Mahi has been a star. He received several awards, the most notable ones being Padma Shri in 2009 and Padma Bhushan in 2018. In its 2019 edition, the Forbes Celebrity 100 list put Mahi on the 5th position.
And Sushant Singh Rajput starred movie, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, based on Mahi’s life crossed Rs200 Crore mark at the box office.

Reebok roped in Dhoni in 2015 as their ambassador and launched #MSD4India campaign. The campaign hashtag was #This1Is4Me. All eyes were on him following the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. In the campaign film, Dhoni is seen asking his followers to dedicate an hour of their time every day to fitness. “Give all your hours to the rest of your life but give yourself this one hour. Because this one hour can change the rest of your life. This one is for you.”, Dhoni said in the campaign.
The campaign was supported by a website where visitors signed up and received a customised workout plan based on their fitness goals, lifestyle and dietary preferences. 3 lucky people were given the chance to meet MS Dhoni personally.
