Rohit Saraf on Rituals, Roots & the Rebirth of Kama Ayurveda’s Bringaras

What happens when centuries-old Ayurvedic rituals get a glow-up for Gen Z? You get Kama Ayurveda’s Bringarasa- a reimagined revival of the legendary Bringadi Oil, now sleeker, stronger and more sensorial than ever. Think of it as a heritage recipe re-written in a modern script, equal parts science and soul. And who better to embody this new chapter than actor Rohit Saraf? With his easy charm, mindful routines, and cult-favourite status among young India, Rohit isn’t just the face of Bringaras, he’s also proof that self-care can be rooted in tradition while still feeling refreshingly now. LuxeBook caught up with the actor for a fun chat on all things self-care, post-work rituals, and everything in between.

LuxeBook: Ayurveda is often seen as timeless. How do you think it resonates with your generation today?

Rohit Saraf: I think what’s amazing about Ayurveda is that it’s always been about balance, and that feels so relevant for my generation. We’re all looking for things that actually work but also feel mindful and good for us, and that’s exactly what Kama Ayurveda’s Bringaras hair care collection brings to the table. It takes these time-tested ingredients like Bhringraj and gives them a modern twist with clinically proven results, so it doesn’t feel like you’re choosing between tradition and performance. For me, that’s the kind of ritual I want in my life, something that’s rooted, effective, and just makes self-care feel like a natural part o every day.

LuxeBook:  Self-care can mean different things to different people. What does mindful self-care look like for you in your everyday life?

Rohit Saraf: For me, mindful self-care is about slowing down and making time for small rituals that actually feel good rather than rushed. With my schedule, I don’t always get hours to myself, so I focus on things that make a real difference, like giving my hair a proper reset with the Bringaras Scalp & Hair Oil. It’s such a simple step, but it helps me pause, take care of my scalp and hair, and feel more grounded before I step into a busy day or a shoot. I think mindful self-care is just about being intentional, and having products like the Bringaras collection that are easy, effective, and rooted in something real.

LuxeBook: Bringaras is about hair and scalp regeneration. Do you have a haircare ritual you swear by, on or off set?

Rohit Saraf: My hair goes through a lot with all the styling on set, so I’ve learned to keep a consistent ritual that really takes care of my scalp and hair. I swear by the Bringaras Scalp & Hair Oil. Once a week, I get a good head massage using this oil because it detoxifies my scalp and keeps my hair strong from the roots. I also love adding the Bringaras Detox Scalp Scrub before a shoot-heavy week for a quick reset, and I finish with the Smoothing Hair Serum for that instant shine, frizz control and heat styling protection. It’s simple, quick, and makes a huge difference, which is exactly what I need with my schedule.

LuxeBook: What’s the one Ayurvedic or wellness tip you grew up with that still stays with you?

Rohit Saraf: One thing that’s always stayed with me is how important it is to really care for your scalp, not just your hair. Growing up, I remember oiling my hair being such a normal ritual at home, and my mom would even make a simple hair mask with yogurt and a bit of coconut oil to keep it soft and healthy. I’ve carried that habit with me even now, and it makes such a difference, especially with all the styling I do for shoots. That’s why I connect so much with Bringaras, it takes those age-old rituals I grew up with and makes them modern, effective, and super easy to keep up with.

LuxeBook: You’re seen as one of Gen Z’s favourite actors, what’s the one thing about you your fans would be surprised to know?

Rohit Saraf: I think people would be surprised to know how much I enjoy quiet, simple routines. My work life is so fast-paced and full of energy, but when I’m off set, I genuinely love slow mornings, making my own coffee, and taking time for things like a self-care day. It’s not very ‘glamorous,’ but I think that balance is what keeps me grounded and lets me show up fully for everything I do.

LuxeBook: What role or project has been the biggest “self-care challenge” for you- physically, mentally, or emotionally?

Rohit Saraf: One of my most challenging projects was The Revolutionaries because it pushed me emotionally in ways I hadn’t experienced before. Playing a role that carried so much depth while managing long shoot days really tested me mentally and physically. That’s when I realised how important it is to take care of myself outside of work, whether it’s simple grounding routines or something as basic as caring for my hair and scalp, which go through a lot of stress on set.

LuxeBook: If we peeked into your travel bag right now, what beauty or wellness essentials would we find?

Rohit Saraf: You’d definitely find the Bringaras Smoothing Hair Serum because it’s a lifesaver when I’m traveling. It keeps my hair smooth and protected no matter the weather or styling. I also carry a small bottle of the Bringaras Scalp & Hair Oil for quick scalp massages on hectic schedules, a good lip balm, sunscreen, and a lightweight moisturizer. I like keeping it simple and travel-friendly, but everything I pack has to actually work and make me feel refreshed on the go.
