Capella Bangkok, overlooking Thailand’s Chao Phraya River, has claimed the top spot on The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024 list, rising from No.11 in 2023 to also win the title of Best Hotel in Asia 2024. Passalacqua, an 18th-century villa on Italy’s Lake Como, takes the No.2 spot after topping the list last year and wins the Carlo Alberto Best Boutique Hotel Award 2024. The towering Rosewood Hong Kong ranks third, while Asia dominates the list with 19 hotels, including four from Bangkok: Capella Bangkok (No.1), Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (No.12), Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (No.14), and The Siam (No.26). Europe follows with 13 hotels, including Cheval Blanc Paris (No.4) and Hôtel de Crillon (No.15) in France, Claridge’s (No.11) and Raffles London at The OWO (No.13) in the UK, and Four Seasons Firenze (No.19) in Italy. North America boasts nine winners, with The Carlyle in New York leading at No.30, and notable Mexican entries like Chablé Yucatán (No.16) and Hotel Esencia (No.48). The highest-ranked hotels in each continent have also been awarded: Capella Bangkok for Asia, Passalacqua for Europe, Chablé Yucatán for North America, Rosewood São Paulo for South America (No.24), The Calile in Australia (No.25) for Oceania, and Mount Nelson in South Africa (No.28) for Africa.
