Buffy the Vampire Slayer
One of the earliest examples of supernatural teen dramas, Buffy The Vampire Slayer is often regarded as the show that put teen soap operas on the map. Although it came out after the original Addams Family, TV tropes like snarky personalities, dramatic plots and larger-than-life characters were made famous because of shows like this one. Sarah Michelle Gellar takes on the role of Buffy, a teenager who just realised she’s the next Slayer, a long line of women whose fate is fighting evil. In an attempt to escape her fate and be a normal teen, Buffy moves to Sunnydale, California where she meets and falls in love with a mysterious young man named Angel. All seems well until Angel confesses to being a vampire, confirming that it might be hard for Buffy to really escape her fate. From then on, Buffy along with Angel and her friends Widow and Spike, work tirelessly to keep the town of Sunnydale safe.
