Abercrombie & Kent’s 2024-25 expedition portfolio features 17 cruises on all seven continents with several new destinations. If the North Pole is at the top of your travel list, get ready to book the trip of a lifetime. A cruise to the North Pole is the luxury tour operator, Abercrombie and Kent’s, new addition. On the inaugural 18-day expedition to the North Pole, guests come aboard the innovative new luxury icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot. Set to sail in 2024, the tentative dates for the cruise are 12-24 July 2024.
“A&K is known for taking our guests to the ends of the earth in luxury, but never before have we been able to offer an experience like this – our first expedition to the North Pole,” explains Stefanie Schmudde, A&K vice-president of product development. “We often hear from past guests who loved their experience and want to discover new destinations. So, we are introducing new destinations that most travellers have yet to visit.”
With its capacity limited to 199 guests, the ship will depart from the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard on July 12, 2024. While the itinerary’s specifics are still being finalised, it’s likely that passengers will see polar bears, walruses, and seals on their way up north.
Cruise liner Le Commandant Charcot, a Ponant luxury ship, is the chosen ship for the cruise to the North Pole. The reason for this selection is the ship’s property of being one of the few passenger ships in the world that can actually reach the North Pole, which is often covered by sea ice that is 6- to 10 feet thick. The prices and itinerary for the cruise have not been revealed however, you can visit the website to stay updated.
But that’s not all! The company is debuting two other brand-new itineraries in 2024, as well as bolstering its existing roster, which includes destinations like Tanzania and Seychelles, Antarctica, and Italy.
