Merging the forces of fashion and sports, Tommy Hilfiger’s newest collection is exciting and athletic. The American luxury lifestyle brand collaborated with Lewis Hamilton, the five-time World Champion Formula One driver, for his Fall 2019 line of menswear and womenswear. The duo unveiled TommyxLewis through a spectacular launch in Milan’s Società del Giardino club.

For the brand, Fall 2019 is all about fusing outdoor functionality and street style with sustainable fabric detailing. A gender fluid collection by Tommy and Lewis, men and women can easily experiment with the diverse range of clothing, which features sporty silhouettes in form of tracksuits, bombers, fleece jackets, shirts and tube tops. There are beanies and belt bags to enhance the look, perfect to accessorise with almost everything. Every creation is embedded with signature ‘LH’ logo reimagined in form of the American label’s iconic flag. Patterns such as mismatched checkered prints, fun colour blocks, chic tie-dyes and sheeny leather textures stand out, while the colours explode with energy, including red, burgundy, black and blue and transcend to neutral tones of white, beige and nude.
“This season is all about the clashing of two distinct worlds – Tommy’s classic American sportswear DNA and my modern streetwear style,” said Lewis Hamilton. “The Fall 2019 TommyXLewis collection truly blends our two creative points of view. It has been another exciting and inspiring adventure and it felt surreal to present the outcome during this amazing evening in Milan.
Making the evening a big hit, over 500 attendees, from Italian designers and artists to sports personalities and influencers graced the exclusive event in Milan, where Pusha T, the American rapper and songwriter closed the launch with a dynamic musical performance. One of Milan’s ancient private club, Società del Giardino was given an urbane makeover, set with mirror platforms for models to walk on, ornate chandeliers hanging from the roof and disco-inspired red and blue laser lighting capturing the entire venue.
