Ulysse Nardin unveils new sustainable capsule collection

Sustainability is the need of the hour and luxury watch brand Ulysee Nardin’s commitment to sustainability has been evident over the years. Being a part of the brand’s core philosophy, Ulysse Nardin has a natural interest in the marine world and has been using discarded fishing nets and other recycled materials to create watches such as the Diver The Ocean Race limited to 200 pieces.  Adding to their portfolio of sustainable watches is Ulysee Nardin’s new capsule collection with two watches namely, the Diver Net OPS and the Diver X Skeleton OPS. The Ulysee Nardin watch can be defined as the epitome of coolness with its black DLC carbonium case contrasting with the multiple hues of kaki. ⁣ The duo watches focus on high-horological timepieces with a modern and sports touch.

⁣First introduced in 2020 as a concept watch, the Diver X Skeleton diving watch was swiftly brought to market, thus attesting to Ulysse Nardin’s innovative spirit while embodying a fundamental mission dear to the Maison: sustainability. Four years later, Ulysse Nardin has managed to push the boundaries of sustainability sourcing cutting-edge and innovative materials. The ultra-modern design is confirmed by the huge skeleton X structure that dominates the dial with hints of kaki, matching the fabric strap, partly made from upcycled fishing nets.

The watches have a unique selling point – they are made with cutting-edge technology using eco-conscious materials, just like their predecessors. The Diver Net OPS has a 44mm case made from 95% recycled stainless steel, along with a combination of Nylo (upcycled fishing nets) and Carbonium. The sandblasted khaki green dial features a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock and a small seconds display at 6 o’clock, with Super-Luminova markings that glow green in low light. The Diver Net OPS is powered by the automatic manufacture calibre UN-118, offering a 60-hour power reserve and a balance spring made of silicon. This model is water-resistant up to 300 meters and comes with either a fabric strap made partly from upcycled fishing nets or a khaki green rubber strap. Notably, the Ulysse Nardin Diver Net OPS is the most sustainable sports watch, as its original case is made from 95% recycled stainless steel and has a 40% lower environmental impact compared to other models.
