Lionel Messi, one of the most popular footballers in the world and certainly the favourite of FC Barcelona fans, has one more reason to celebrate. He has topped Forbes’ list of World’s Highest-Paid Soccer Players of 2020.
This has made the Argentine athlete only the second player in history, after Cristiano Ronaldo, to reach $1 billion in pre-tax earnings. His total earnings have been $126 million, of which $92 million was his salary and he made $34 million from endorsements.
