LOUIS XIII launches two exquisite decanters in India
Schenelle Dsouza
A renowned celebration spirit, LOUIS XIII extended its iconic collection in India, launching two of its largest and rarest crystal decanters – LOUIS XIII Mathusalem, a 6L decanter, and the LOUIS XIII Jeroboam, a 3L decanter in the country. The new set of decanters will be exclusively available at Mansionz by Living Liquidz in Bengaluru and Vaz Enterprises in Goa.

A blend sourced from Grande Champagne, LOUIS XIII has created a niche for itself over the years, known as one of the most popular celebration spirit among cognacs in the world. It is also the very first cru of the cognac region (cru are the vineyards in France where the wine for cognac is sourced. And the Louis XIII is made using the fruit from the very first cru in the region). It has a very unique flavour palate which includes aromatics like myrrh, honey, dried roses, plum, honeysuckle, cigar box, leather, figs and passion fruit. The legendary decanters, on the other hand, have been mouth‐blown by some of the most skilled master craftsmen for generations.
LOUIS XIII Jeroboam, a 3L decanter
Each year, LOUIS XIII releases as many as 200 Jeroboam decanters worldwide, each of which is worked on by at least 11 craftsmen. The resulting mouth-blown decanters are cut, shaped, and painted by hand, and then individually numbered to track the number of decanters and keep a record of their rarity.

LOUIS XIII Mathusalem, a 6L decanter
The Mathusalem decanter is a much more rare product with only 50 decanters released each year. Unlike the Jeroboam decanter, Mathusalem requires at least 20 crystal artisans to work on a single decanter. A testament to LOUIS XIII’s pioneering spirit and innovation, the Mathusalem decanter is regarded as a masterpiece of the iconic LOUIS XIII collection that is a rare and exquisite collector’s item.

Both of the exceptional decanters are presented in an opulent wooden trunk. Staying true to the tradition of LOUIS XIII, the collectable is accompanied by a set of Christophe Pillet-designed glasses, the traditional LOUIS XIII pipette, also known as a Spear and a display podium. This allows the owner to follow the same serving ritual as a LOUIS XIII Cellar Master.
Indian retailers
Honouring the magnificent Indian celebrations, LOUIS XIII also announced the certification of its first two official retail partners in the Indian subcontinent, Mansionz by Living Liquidz in Bengaluru and Vaz Enterprises in Goa.
