With an aim to bring the old-world charm of Hyderabad alive, the luxury couture label Mala and Kinnary launched a new collection titled Deccan Pearl. This Autumn/Winter’19 range includes women’s occasion wear, inspired by the architectural details of the Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad, located near the monumental Charminar.
The lehengas, sarees, gowns, blazers and capes in this collection mixes contemporary style for modern fashion geeks. Rich details of surface embellishment and motif work are influenced from the artsy corners of Chowmahalla, like its windows, stairways, ceilings, pillars and arches.
Box pleated lehenga and shirt
Colours, cuts and patterns flow effortlessly in this set of dark beige lehenga and a white shirt with a waist band. The taffeta lehenga looks stellar with motifs hand beaded on its surface, whereas the satin silk shirt flaunts a similar motif pattern on the cuffs. Overall, the contrast of plain white fabric against the embroidered beige fabric sets a fancy example of occasion wear.
Dramatic suit-pant
A co-ordination of blazer and flared pants, this outfit reinterprets formal wear. The blazer has a dramatic, embroidered floor-touching sleeve on one side while the other side has a button-detailing. The uniquely tailored co-ord depicts a velvet-matte finish and a blush pink palette.
Strapless pleated gown
The flowy, exaggerated train is the highlight of this strapless champagne gown. Crafted in dupion silk, the dress embraces hand embroidered sequins and a straight silhouette with pleats. This gown makes for an elegant pick for wedding events or a fun bachelorette party.
Cape-Saree
The saree comes with a cape, exhibiting a white-on-white trend which catches the eye instantly. In a sophisticated fusion of traditional and modern, the ivory tulle cape is generously embedded with flower motifs, while the saree’s border is hand beaded with tassels and deccan pearls.
Halter top and wrap lehenga
Exemplifying grace and femininity, a no-fuss halter top is paired with a twill satin wrap-lehenga. Tailored in minimalism, the look is teamed with a sheer organza dupatta accented by tiny sequins and deccan pearls.
