Recently honored at the esteemed Joy Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Alia received the Honorary Entertainment Makers Award, stealing the spotlight in a radiant red Ajrakh print saree from the artisanal collections of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Ajrakh, a unique textile/block printing form originating from Sindh, Pakistan, is also practiced by the Khatri community in Gujarat and Rajasthan. For the grand launch of the Neeta Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Priyanka Chopra graced the occasion in a bespoke creation by Amit Aggarwal. The ensemble featured a sixty-year-old vintage Banarasi brocade saree, intricately woven with silver threads and gold electroplating on khadi silk. The saree was draped over and structured with a jewel-toned, moulded body made from the designer’s signature unique material. To complement the ensemble, Priyanka wore a sequin sheet holographic bustier that beautifully reflected the nine colors of the ikat weave present in the brocade. This luxurious masterpiece took six months to craft, with the original vintage textile handwoven in the craft clusters of Varanasi. Well, PC’s outfit definitely screamed luxury and opulence in 100 different languages, to say the least.

When it comes to donning the most intricate sarees, Sonam Kapoor proves to be the ultimate trendsetter. Opting for a hand-woven and block-printed yellow goonda linen saree from Anavila Misra’s Dabu collection for a cricket match, she paired it with a loose-fitting plain white blouse. Adding flair, she draped a yellow khadi silk dupatta with zari detailing from Anavila Misra’s Kagaj Baha collection. The yellow-and-white ensemble was a visually soothing combination, and the choice of natural fabrics like linen and khadi provided comfort in the scorching sun. With minimal traditional jewelry, the combination of a linen saree, khadi silk dupatta, and understated accessories made this look a masterclass in Indian festive styling for the summer months.

Styled by celebrated stylist, Esha Amin for an event, Karisma looked stunning in a handwoven dull gold tissue foil saree from couturier Manish Malhotra, adorned with subtle-toned embroidery. Paired with a short-sleeved shimmery backless blouse featuring a crew neckline, the ensemble struck a perfect balance of bling without being overpowering. The blouse, with its cool undertone, harmonized seamlessly with the sari, resulting in a cohesive and elegant outfit. To enhance the look, Karisma accessorized with a statement pair of emerald and pearl danglers, adding a vibrant touch of color, and a solitary embellished bangle – all from the collection of Manish Malhotra.
