Hollywood certainly went all out dressing up to the nines yesterday for the 78th Golden Globes awards. Afterall, it was about celebrating the best in films and shows that kept us going through the bleak months of 2020, be it the humourous Schitt’s Creek, the fascinating world of The Crown and The Queen’s Gambit or the thought-provoking scripts of Nomadland and Normal People.
Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the fourth time since 2013, the Golden Globes stuck to the pandemic-led ritual of virtual red carpets. Celebrities stunned us with their quick transitions from pajamas to ball gowns and tuxedos.
Some celebs, including January Jones and Jane Fonda, even chose to re-wear and refashion their high-glamour wardrobe from the past.

Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan chooses to stick with the charms of the old-world fashion in Molly Goddard’s pale-yellow gown paired with a crop knit cardigan.

Red carpet or no red carpet, Kate Hudson certainly knows how to make a statement. She dons Louis Vuitton’s silk cady gown with falling draped sleeves.

Andra Day stuns in Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2021 outfit, created with delicate tulle and mesh detailing.

Sarah Paulson strikes a pose in a classic black belted gown and a custom cast created by Prada.
