Whether you’re a young one or someone who is looking to rekindle the child in them, theme parks are a great way to unwind and relax. From thrilling roller coaster rides to a magical family vacation, theme parks have something for everyone. Whimsical, dreamy and much like a fairy tale, sometimes we truly need to break away from the hectic life we are swapped with. While the US is the pioneer in theme parks, today they are widespread across Europe, UAE and the Middle East. However, Disneyland and Universal studios in the States still tops the charts. Here is a list of some of the best theme parks to visit around the world.
Disney World, Orlando
Disneyland in Orlando is archetypal of all theme parks. Being the first-ever one, it opened in 1955, and we can safely say that it impacted the tourism industry and American pop culture. The first theme park (and the only one finished under the supervision of Walt Disney) in the ever-expanding Disney empire, Disneyland is still packed with nostalgia and history. Being home to Magic Kingdom, Minnie and Mickey Mouse, today whether you’re a child or an adult, Disney always has its charm. We highly recommend catching a glimpse of the night parade and live shows as well as the ride.
Europa Park, Germany
Nestled in Rust in Germany, Europa Park is one of the best theme parks in Europe. While it is lesser known to find amusement parks in Europe, this is Germany’s largest theme park. A Europe-themed park with more than 100 attractions representing 15 different countries and regions around Europe, the adventure thrilling rollercoaster rides here are worth the adrenaline. Don’t miss out on the Mercedes Benz rollercoaster, and the glow-in-the-light one amongst many others. And for butterflies in your stomach, the free fall tower will have your heart pounding or let the water baby within you be unleashed with a lot of water rides.

The beauty however is in the architecture and the extensive flower gardens that are landscaped with pavilions, and open-air theatres. Further coloured floodlights and illuminated fountains brighten the park at night.

When it comes to special effects, and grand sets, Universal studios is the name that pops into our mind. What started as a studio tour in 1915 has evolved into one of the world’s most recognizable theme park companies.
