The weekend was one glamorous celebration with the launch of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). As India’s first multi-disciplinary creative space, the grand opening of NMACC featured some of the biggest names in the fashion and film industry gracing the event. From Bollywood celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra to international icons like Zendaya, and Gigi Hadid, the opening of the NMACC was a star-studded affair, with some of the best fashion looks, so much so that netizens are referring to the event as the Indian MET Gala! Take a look at some of our favourite looks from the 2-day event.
Alia Bhatt

A grand outfit for the grand opening of the NMACC, Alia Bhatt wore a stunning custom silver ensemble designed by Vaishali S. The pre-draped saree had a structured pleated design which was paired with a heavily embellished bustier. Adding ot the glamour of the look, Bhatt opted for stand-out accessories like a floral, embroidered haath bandh, a choker necklace, diamond earrings, bracelets and statement rings. Keeping the focus on the outfit, hair and makeup was kept to a minimum with a sleek centre-parted bun and a natural, no-makeup makeup look.
Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone’s fashion game has been at its peak lately. Take a look at her stunning Oscars look if you don’t believe us. Bringing her best once again, the actress donned a beautiful embellished jacket and palazzo pants combo by Anamika Khanna. The outfit also featured a cape jacket with a floor-sweeping train with an embellished border. A bright red lip, a sleek ponytail and statement gold jewellery tied up the look elegantly.
Gigi Hadid

One of the many highlights of the event was Gigi Hadid dressed like a goddess in a number designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. A stunning white and gold saree, the outfit featured an ivory chikankari skirt with gold patti borders. Hadid paired the outfit with stacked gold bangles, earrings and a sleek bun.
Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor graced the pink carpet at the NMACC in a gorgeous black and gold custom gown by Manish Malhotra. The strapless gown featured a plunging neckline with a bodycon mermaid silhouette and long train and was covered in a shimmering patti embroidery. The gown was paired with a simple silk cape, a diamond necklace, and maang tika. A smokey eye makeup look and open locks completed the look.
Kriti Sanon

Kriti Sanon brought her a game to the NMACC with this gorgeous reimagined saree gown from Monisha Jaising. A Banars-inspired ensemble, the black silk gown had gold brocade embroidery, with a one-shoulder neckline, a risqué thigh-high slit and a floor-length hem. A matching jacket accompanied the gown, while a centre-parted braided hairdo, jhumkas and bold smoky eye shadow completed the look.
Natasha Poonawalla

Indian businesswoman Natasha Poonwalla always manages to stand out with her style. For the grand opening of the NMACC, Poonwalla looked her very best in a black Sabyasachi gown featuring heavy, floral embroidery. She completed the look with a furry cape, and accessories from Sabyasachi which included a signature black belt, a statement necklace and a pink clutch handbag.
Priyanka Chopra

Looking every bit the star, global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas opted for a sparkly gown from Elie Saab for the grand opening of the NMACC. A sheer pink ensemble, the gown had heavy sequined details around the bodice and ruffled sleeves that added more drama to the look. She paired the outfit with a floral-applique adorned cape simple nude makeup, silver heels, diamond-studded earring and a statement bracelet.
Rashmika Mandanna

Black and gold seemed to be the colour of night for day 2 of the NMACC. Actress Rashmika Mandanna graced the event with an elegant Falguni Shane Peacock gown. The outfit was a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements a mermaid silhouette, and scalloped trail. The black gown had a neat addition of sparkle with intricate gold detailing, Swarovski stones, crystals, sequins, and beads covering the top half and ends of the gown. She paired the look with soft glam makeup, black eyeliner and a sleek ponytail.
Sara Ali Khan

Sara Ali Khan in an ethnic ensemble is always a treat to the eyes and this Manish Malhotra ensemble is one fine example. The outfit came with a chic golden blouse and a black lehenga skirt paired with a matching overcoat. All three pieces featured heavy, intricate gold embroidery. Since gold was the highlight of the look, Sara opted for gold-toned makeup with bold kohl-lined eyes and pinkish nude lipstick. The hair was kept simple with a sleek bun. Gold earrings and a statement gold rin completed the look.
Sonam Kapoor

Our very own fashionista, Sonam Kapoor opted for a colourful look for the pink carpet. Designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the multi-coloured skirt was made with 20 individual embroidered panels which represented 35 years of designs. The skirt was completed with a gold strapless embodied top and matching drape. The look was paired with statement jhumkas, a smokey eye and gold toned makeup look.
