This week has steered quite a buzz when it comes to luxury. From the ongoing watches and Wonders showcase in Geneva to Dior’s showcase in Mumbai in collaboration with the Chanakya School of craft to Nezo, the Multi-Brand Fashion House. Here are the top luxury news highlights.

Watches and Wonders, the world’s biggest horological tradeshow, has kickstarted and the fair offers an insight into the most coveted and luxurious new watch releases. From Panerai to Rolex and Cartier to Mont Blanc, the top players have left us in awe yet again. Many brands are revisiting established classics or recently minted heroes with new iterations. Cartier n has put out an array of new timepieces with elements from its signature models, it rendered its Tank Normale anew, including a few complex skeletonized versions. For the Octo Finissimo, Bulgari decided to focus on its Octo Roma collection and revealed two particularly elevated tourbillon models. And Van Cleef & Arpels delivered extraordinary table clocks. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s geometric and artistic Golden Ration displays man’s capacity to create beautiful objects that come to life. , Panerai debuts new technologies while celebrating its rich heritage with a special focus on the iconic Radiomir including the   Radiomir Annual Calendar PAM01363 & PAM01432, Radiomir California and Radiomir Quaranta Goldtech. And Rolex demonstrates its perpetual pursuit of excellence.  Rolex debuted new iterations of the Cosmograph Daytona, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the reference with two new colours. The GMT-MASTER II is available this year in two new versions – yellow Rolesor and 18 ct yellow gold. Opting to have a little bit of fun this year with the Day-Date.  The new versions of the Day-Date 36 are equipped with calibre 3255, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology, enabling them to display a special keyword each day of the week and an individual emoji each day of the month, as well as the hours, minutes and seconds.⁠ A new colourful Oyster Perpetual drops as well along with others.  This ought to be the most coveted luxury event in the watch world.

Three Indian restaurants have been featured in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 list. These include Mumbai’s Masque at ranked 16, New Delhi’s Indian Accent ranked 19, and Chennai’s Avartana came in at No 30 respectively. The awards were announced at a ceremony in Singapore. Luxury travel bag brand, Victorinox has announced the launch of two exciting luggage collections, the all-new Crosslight, and three exciting new colours in the immensely popular Airox Collection. The iconic Victorinox Red represents the brand’s DNA and its Swiss Army Knife heritage. It is complemented by two equally strong colours which perfectly complete this matching trio. Apple buy now pay later

Apple has recently introduced a new buy now, pay later service. Aiming to promote financial health, the program allows users to split purchases into four payments with no interest and no fees. ⁠As of today, the tech empire will begin inviting select users to access a pre-release version of Apple Pay Later, with plans to offer this to eligible users in the coming months. ⁠

Luxury label Dior and women’s Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri took over Mumbai on the 29-30 March in association with The Chanakya School of Craft founded by Karishma Swali. The idea of the show was to honour India and the culture and craft of the country. The show took place on 30 March 2023 at The Gateway of India against a beautiful background called Toran, 14 metres tall, site-specific artwork in collaboration with the Chanakya Ateliers and Chanakya School of Craft.
Seen as a symbolic ceremonial entrance to India, the Gateway and the Toran serve as a metaphor for this intimate collaboration, referencing cross-cultural influences, heritage and traditions. The Fall Collection saw a variety of colours including black, white, beige, purple, yellow, orange and pink, along with sequins, layering, skirts, dresses and floor-length gowns.

Nezo, the new Multi-Brand Fashion House 

Garima Bijlani has launched a new multi-designer store in Bandra, Nezo. The store retails clothing and accessories from some of the fashion world’s most exciting names, such as Bobo Calcutta (available for the first time in a store in Mumbai), Kanika Goyal,  Vaishali Shadangule, Zara Umrigar, Sneak No More  Isharya, Rara Avis, Maison Blu, Papa Don’t Preach, P Square, Hair Drama Company, and Curated Curiosities. A fun and experiential concept store, Nezo stands true to its name – a Hungarian word that means a spectator or an observer, someone who looks at, and learns from the world, but is very intuitive to their own emotions.
