If you’ve watched the new Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion, then you’re familiar with the extravaganza that is Miles Bron’s stunning Greek Island property. Mysteriously popping up on Zillow, the mega-mansion has been listed for sale, for a whopping price of US $450 million. The price is justified if you ask us, given that the home is filled with almost every element showcased in the movie, minus the Mona Lisa of course!
Located on the Peloponnese peninsula overlooking the Aegean Sea, the property sits on a sprawling 26 acres of land, while the mansion itself is spread across 29,000 square feet of space. These include 17 bedrooms, 22 bathrooms, a state-of-the-art gym, a wine cellar, a spa and a single parking space on the roof, among other amenities. The crown jewel however, is the 65-foot-tall glass pavilion above the main residence. Boasting a complex architecture, the design is meant to mimic the layers of an actual onion, hence glass onion.
While the property is breathtakingly lavish, its hard to imagine how anyone could possibly afford to shell out US $450 million on a property. And so, if you take a closer look at the listing on Zillow, a number of clues will lead you to the conclusion that the listing is actually fake.
That’s right, the Glass Onion compound does not really exist; the movie was actually filmed at Amanzoe Resort’s Villa 20, near Porto Heli. And, the Zillow listing is a clever promotional tactic by Netflix to generate publicity for the film. Nonetheless, the listing allows viewers to immerse themselves into the Glass Onion storyline with very specific details from the movie.
As the story goes, Miles Bron supposedly built the island property in 2020. Running entirely off of hydrogen fuel, the compound is only accessible via boat and a transparent floating dock that was allegedly designed by Banksy. Bron describes his home as more of a “commune for creativity” with extras like luggage-carrying robot dogs!
The Glass Onion’s accommodations include seven villas, each of which are named after a different chakra. There are also six different pools for you to lay out next to, or lavish gardens laden with large sculptures perfect for an evening stroll.
An avid art lover/collector, Bron’s home is brimming with high-end artworks from the like of Picasso, Monet, Mondrian, Francis Bacon and Lucian Freud. However, the most priceless of them all is Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, which he supposedly received on loan from the Louvre. The listing goes on to mention the sunken living room and massive dining area which are “perfect for hosting the most elaborate of murder mystery parties”.
If you haven’t watched the film yet, the home ingeniously helps you familiarise with the location. But for those that did actually watch the film, you’re going to love the many inside jokes sprinkled throughout this listing!
