Seattle’s most expensive property, previously owned by American jazz saxophonist Kenny G, hit the market for a staggering US $70 million. The mansion was custom-built for the musician nearly three decades ago and was designed by celebrity architect Richard Landry, who previously designed homes for celebrities such as Mark Wahlberg, Kylie Jenner, and Sylvester Stallone.

The lavish enclave sits on a 4.3-acre plot of land, along a 327 feet shoreline of Lake Washington. Those who love seclusion, privacy and the outdoors will love the ambience here – sprawling manicured gardens, water fountains, stone patios, and in-ground pools.

The lake, which is the biggest highlight of the property, comes with its very own private dock with enough space for a 150-foot yacht, a seaplane, jet skis and other boats. Apart from the dock, the property also houses a pool cabana with changing rooms and showers, a beach house, a pool, and a tennis court.

The 12,000-square-foot main house complements the grandeur of the outdoors with its contemporary European design and is composed largely of sandstone and glass. The space is divided into five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a formal living room, a recreation room, an office, a gymnasium, a four-bedroom staff house with a commercial kitchen and a wine cellar.

Keeping in line with the elegant, European theme, the interiors maintain a neutral tone with ornate columns, mouldings and cornices. The large French windows throughout the home help draw ample sunlight during the day while providing glorious views of the lawns and the lake.

The formal living room has a special grandeur to it with an intricate, hand-carved fireplace mantel and giant two-storey windows. The recreation room, too, gets some special additions like the saltwater fish tank and wet bar, while the exercise suite comes with three mirrored walls, another bar, and six sets of French doors opening up to the patio and lawn.

The bedrooms have a somewhat similar theme, each designed in neutral tones of white, cream and tan. The primary bedroom, which is located on the top floor gets an extra dose of luxury with a private balcony overlooking the lake and a custom closet and dual bathrooms.

The property was initially listed for an asking price of US $85 million. However, it was recently re-listed for US $70 million on Compass.
