We’re a mere 15 days away from 2023, and its time to take stock. The year has proven that the luxury industry thrived on, despite the economic volatility around the world. This week’s luxury news saw an array of new launches and luxury highlights. From Drake’s 42 diamond piece necklace to Jacob & Co.’s tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo with its new Epic X collection, Lamborghini’s new supercar and the launch of Zara beauty in India. The all new Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato

After months of teases, the Italian marque unveiled the finished production version of its off-road-ready supercar at Art Basel Miami.  The Huracán Sterrato is easily the most aggressive version of the model in its eight-year history. The final car includes auxiliary lights on the nose, roof rails, carbon-fibre fender arches and a set of 19-inch wheels wrapped in custom Bridgestone all-terrain run-flat tires. Lamborghini plans to build just 1,499 cars with a hefty price tag of around $270,000. Deliveries will begin in the first half of next year.⁠

CR7 has long had a taste for diamond Jacob & Co timepieces and to pay homage to the player (who recently retired from international football) Jacob & Co has launched a new collection Epic X. With four timepieces for a legend, the Jacob & Co X CR7 Epic X Heart of CR7 is available in steel with a green flange, crown, caseback and strap. The rose gold edition, Jacob & Co X CR7 Epic X Flight of CR7, features a red theme. Both are available with a smooth bezel, or set with 26 baguette diamonds.

In celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary, Givenchy has launched an exclusive collection to create a “one-of-a-kind world tour.” This collectable capsule embodies the true spirit of adventure and celebrates Oswald’s return as he emerges from the Disney vault for the first time in nearly 95 years to re-enter the pop culture era ahead of the year of the rabbit. Fusing the fun-loving mischievous spirit into the range, the furry character can be seen showcased across varsity jackets, track jackets, hoodies, tees, sweatpants, and shorts. ⁠The collection will be available beginning December 16.⁠

If you can expect something outrageous, it has to be from Drake. Earlier this year the singer tied up with luxury jewellers Alex Moss for a unique neckpiece and now it is the biggest luxury news update. The necklace titled ‘Previous Engagements’ is a chain that uses 42 engagement rings he purchased each time he wanted to propose. The art piece is composed of 351.38 carats mounted on 18k white gold and took 14 months to make. ⁠

Fashion giant, Zara has stepped into the world of beauty with their newly launched beauty collection. The lineup consists of lipsticks with a silky smooth texture, tinted lip balms with a subtle shine, 51 foundation shades that last up to 12 hours, lipgloss, liquid lipstick, lip oils for hydration, highlighter palettes, nail paints and makeup brushes. With a focus on sustainability, the products are refillable and the cases can be reused. Recently, the brand launched the beauty line at their DLF Promenade retail store and the collection is also available online.

Luxury news updates this week include fashion brand Philipp Plein unveiling an exclusive sneaker collaboration with American rapper Snoop Dogg. The PleinDogg sneakers have been designed to combine Philipp Plein’s attention to detail and richness “tuned to the doggy style” of Snoop Dogg. The first model is proposed around a calf leather black patent, a lettering and gold details sold at $1,259, the second presents a calf leather full of stones sneaker, and offered at a price of $5,246. The Pleindogg collaboration is available in in-stores and on Plein.com.
