“As a trustee of Breakthrough, I have witnessed how girls’ lives are transformed if they are married later and can complete their education. Tambola for a cause on 28th August offers every one of us the chance to make a difference in the lives of girls who are at risk of early marriage. All one has to do is to donate towards the set of tickets and participate in a fun-filled event that has incredible prizes as a bonus”, said Priya Paul.
Due to the financial crisis, families force their daughters to get married early. Because of the COVID 19 induced lockdown, many people are facing financial issues. This has further contributed to the problem. In fact, during this period, the government’s official 1098 helpline received 5,000 calls reporting incidents of early marriage.

A few of the prizes revealed by the organisation are couture by Rohit Bal, clutch by Tarun Tahiliani, jewellery by Maharani Jewels and JJ Vallaya for Swarvoski, 75-inch smart TV from VU Televisions, homeware by India Circus by Krsna and artworks by Arzan Khambatta and Madhuri Bhaduri.
