Patek Philippe, a Swiss luxury watch brand has been in business since 1839. They recently launched PP6, manufacture in Plan-Les-Quates, Geneva. To commemorate the launch, the brand’s legacy, Patek Philippe introduced a special edition watch named Calatrava Ref 6007A-001.
Crafted in stainless steel, it is a rare edition of the Calatrava range. It has a diameter of 40 mm, a sapphire crystal case back marked with Calatrava cross and a special inscription that says ‘New Manufacture 2019’ are some of its features.

The dial has a dynamic face with a railway track scale and triangular markers. A grey-blue hue is seen as a signature element along with a subtle satin finish. The carbon embossed dial has imprints and applied numerals that stand out in white colour while the hands have been lacquered in white gold giving the watch a luminous finish.

A distinct feature of Calatrava Ref 6007A-001 is the calfskin strap it possesses. Embossed with the fabric pattern and decorative white seams, it coordinates perfectly with the dial centre. The watch’s 324 S caliber of this model is water-resistant and self-winding. It is priced at $28,351 and only 1,000 pieces will be manufactured.

About the new manufacture building: The construction of the manufacture PP6 was started back in 2015 and finally finished in early 2020. It consists of 10 floors (5 above ground and 5 below ground) having a length of 200m meters. Whereas, the building’s volume is said to be more than 540,000 square meters. It provides ample space for innovation, growth and training programmes.

In accordance with Haute Performance Energetique standards and the energy laws of the canton in Geneva, the building also houses a penthouse restaurant with a capacity of 880 guests, four VIP lounges and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 299 people. Reportedly, the building cost of manufacture PP6 was around $600 Million.
