How do you create wedding invitations that reflect a couple’s personality and love story?
I create wedding invitations that reflect a couple’s personality by weaving their love story into the design. Through personalized illustrations, bespoke materials, and cultural influences, each invite becomes a unique expression of their journey. I incorporate interactive elements, sensory details like fragrance and texture, and sustainable options for a meaningful touch. The presentation, from handcrafted boxes to silk-wrapped invites, ensures a lasting impression. My idea is to craft invitations that aren’t just announcements but cherished keepsakes, capturing the essence of the couple’s love and celebration.
What are some of the most unique or creative invitations you’ve designed?
I’ve designed invitations that transform into keepsakes, like a storybook invitation narrating a couple’s journey, a miniature palace box for a royal-themed wedding, and a hand-painted scroll invite inspired by vintage manuscripts. One standout was a 3D pop-up Swiss Alps scene for a wedding in Zermatt, featuring the Matterhorn and the couple’s love for skiing.

How can couples make their invitations feel more personal and meaningful?
Personalization is essential. I include custom illustrations, elements from your love story, or even your favorite poem or quote. Handwritten calligraphy, monograms, and meaningful symbols make the invitation more intimate. Choosing bespoke packaging, such as silk-wrapped boxes or scented paper, adds a special touch.
What are the biggest wedding invitation trends right now? Are couples going for bold designs or classic elegance?
There’s a mix of both. Minimalist sophistication with textured papers and elegant typography is trending, while others prefer bold, artistic invitations with rich colours and intricate motifs. Interactive and experiential invites, like layered laser-cut designs or storybook formats, are also gaining popularity.
With digital invites becoming more common, how do traditional printed invitations still stand out?
Printed invitations offer a tactile, immersive experience—the feel of fine paper, intricate textures, and handcrafted details can’t be replicated digitally. They also become heirloom-worthy keepsakes, unlike fleeting digital invites.
What are some of the most luxurious or special materials you’ve used for wedding invitations?
I have crafted invitations using handwoven silk, velvet, and gold-foil embossed leather, along with semi-precious stone embellishments. Some invitations even featured 24K gold-plated accents, embroidered motifs, and mother-of-pearl inlays, transforming them into collector’s pieces. For eco-conscious couples, there are options like seed paper invites, recycled handmade paper, or fabric-wrapped cards that can serve as keepsakes. Additionally, biodegradable packaging, soy-based inks, and invitations made from wood or bamboo offer stylish yet sustainable choices.
How can couples make sure their invitation matches the overall theme of their wedding?
The invitation should reflect the wedding’s aesthetic—colours, motifs, and materials should align with the décor and attire. For instance, a beach wedding invite might feature watercolour waves and seashell embellishments, while a royal-inspired wedding may use gold detailing and brocade textures.

What exciting new ideas or innovations are shaping the future of wedding invitations?
Augmented reality (AR) invitations, where couples can embed videos or animated messages, are becoming popular. Sustainable, plantable invitations, laser-cut 3D designs, and interactive pop-ups are also pushing the boundaries of creativity..
What tips would you give to couples designing their dream wedding invite? Any common mistakes to avoid?
Begin the process early and ensure the invitation aligns with your wedding vision. Focus on readability by avoiding overcrowded designs and making sure the text contrasts well with the background. Keep logistics in mind; overly large or delicate invitations may create mailing challenges. Most importantly, make it personal—your invitation should beautifully tell your story.
