Embracing the far-reaching appeal of the growing digital fashion industry, Manish Malhotra, one of India’s leading designers, unveiled his new collection ‘Nooraniyat’ on social media yesterday.
The 4-minute long film featured Bollywood’s gen-next star Sara Ali Khan, who played Malhotra’s muse for his stunning bridal collection.

Shot amidst the grandeur of The Leela Palace, Jaipur, Sara Ali Khan looks like a ravishing, new-age bride in the film. She donned a number of wedding-perfect ensembles that oozed old-world charm speckled with a sensual, modern design language.

The actress, who will be next seen alongside Akshay Kumar and Dhanush in Atrangi Re this year, sashayed through the hallways of the majestic Jaipur property in Malhotra’s fashion film. Blingy, summery tones of her outfits included blush pink, beige, black, red, silver and icy blue, laced with heavy touches of golden embroidery and metallic thread work.

One of the outfits that Sara wore from the Nooraniyat collection is a black raw silk lehenga with heavy, antique gold embroidery matched with a collared blouse. Another creation was an all-black lehenga skirt worn with a golden embroidered crop blouse. Sara was also seen basking in the sunlight in an icy blue-silver toned lehenga and a backless blouse.

One of her favourites, she said in a press statement, is the wine silk lehenga that is embellished with gold metallic thread work. The Nooraniyat collection also featured a truly royal pairing of lehenga and crop blouse, styled with a long cape-like jacket. All her ensembles were complemented with a statement maang tikka and a choker necklace from Raniwala 1881. Finishing her modern-day princess look was the beachy waves hairdo.
“Sara looks stunning and the essence of Nooraniyat just reverberates with her personality. She if confident and sure of her own style much like brides of today,” said Designer Manish Malhotra in a press note.

“The collection is so diverse, ethnic yet modern, experimental and fun. It felt great to play the bride of Manish Malhotra, especially when there is no bridegroom involved. I love Manish, his clothes and his vibe. The soundtrack, it’s so soulful and sits brilliantly with the collection,” said Sara Ali Khan in a press statement.
