Sorrento at Shangri La delights guests with its new menu

If your go to cuisine for a perfect date night is undeniably Italian, you’re in for a treat. Get ready to embark on a delightful Italian escapade right in the heart of Shangri La Eros New Delhi as its cult-favourite Italian restaurant, Sorrento proudly unveils its captivating new menu. Tucked away within the luxurious confines of the hotel, Sorrento has always been celebrated for its authentic Italian flavors. With this exciting menu launch, guests are in for an extraordinary journey promising to awaken the senses and etch unforgettable moments. From the iconic delights of pizza and pasta to the irresistible charm of Mediterranean seafood, we were delighted to be a part of Sorrento’s newly unveiled menu’s preview, and oh boy, it didn’t disappoint.

About the menu:

The adventure kicks off with an enticing array of fine Italian cheeses and premium dry-cured meats, featuring tantalizing creations like Provolone with Apple and Shallot Mostarda, Pecorino Romano with Black Truffle Honey, and the timeless Prosciutto Di Parma. Continuing the culinary odyssey, guests will be enchanted by Burrata delights, where heirloom tomatoes and organic basil blend seamlessly, while Focaccia Burrata and Black Truffle Burrata beckon with their irresistible allure. The seafood selection unveils innovative dishes such as Sea Scallops adorned with textures of Cauliflower and Zucchini Salsa, inviting diners to savor the essence of the Mediterranean. Pasta aficionados will delight in artisanal pasta creations like Spaghetti Pomodoro with Burrata, Green Gnocchi, Ravioli Ricotta, Mushroom Tortellini, and the comforting Rigatoni Alla Norma. Plated mains offer signature dishes like Stuffed Portobello, Prawns Gratin, Duo of Lamb, Butter Confit Duck, Red Snapper, each showcasing the gourmet mastery of Sorrento’s chefs. From the fiery embrace of Woodfired Oven Pizzas featuring Pizza Di Patate and Pizza Funghi to decadent desserts like Sorrento’s Classic Tiramisu, every dish is a symphony of flavors designed to ignite the senses.

An experience of a lifetime:

As we stepped into the restaurant, tantalizing aromas danced around us, promising a culinary journey to remember. Our seven-course extravaganza kicked off with a delightful Focaccia Burrata and Tomato salad, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. The Truffle Burrata stole the spotlight with its creamy cheese and mushroom filling, leaving me craving for more. To balance the richness, the Butternut Squash Soup arrived, adorned with toasted pumpkin seeds and goat cheese. It was followed by a unique ‘flying buffet interactive dining’ experience, treating us to Green Gnocchi and Tiger Prawn Spaghetti in marinara sauce. After a peek into the kitchen’s live baked burrata making, we savored a creamy Risotto infused with basil and burrata. And let’s not forget the incredible cocktail concoctions that accompanied our savory delights. For the main course, the Duo of Lamb, Butter Confit Duck, and Portobello Gratin offered a tough choice, each a masterpiece in its own right. Finally, we concluded our feast with the legendary Baba Au Rum dessert and a refreshing Caramel Affogato, sealing the evening with sweetness and caffeine.

Moreover, Sorrento has also introduced a unique dining experience with sharing family-style meals such as Whole Roasted Lamb Leg and Grilled Seafood Platter, inviting guests to create cherished memories while indulging in the finest Italian fare.
