Jay-Z’s ultra-rare Tiffany-stamped Patek Philippe watch
In the music industry, a few names hold respect as Jay-Z. The versatile artist has left an indelible mark not only in music but also in the world of exceptional timepieces. Jay Z is known for his OTT style and all-out bling! And of course, his love for watches. His collection includes new and vintage watches from Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, and Patek Philippe showcasing his appreciation for craftsmanship, innovation, and heritage. Jay Z’s luxury watch collection is worth millions and includes one of the most complicated timepieces ever made.
In addition to his successful collaboration with Hublot, which resulted in the creation of The Shawn Carter timepiece and showcased his genuine passion for horology, Jay-Z has amassed a multi-million-dollar collection of rare watches. Among his impressive collection, his rare Patek Philippe pieces have caught the attention of a wide fan base. In 2021, he was seen wearing a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 in Tiffany Blue, which was initially retailed for $52,635 with only 170 pieces. Days after the watches sold out, one was auctioned off for $6.5 million.
At the 2023 Grammys, Jay-Z wore a Grandmaster Chime 6300, and in recent times, he has been spotted wearing a rare Tiffany and Co stamp watch with a bezel made entirely of diamond baguettes. His Patek Philippe collection is filled with so many gems that it can be a tiring task to keep track. Recently, he was seen wearing a 40 mm ultra-rare Patek Philippe watch, apparently priced at a jaw-dropping $161000. However, this is not the most expensive watch in his collection.
During the Lakers vs. Clippers game, Jay Z opted for a casual and comfortable look. He wore a black sweatshirt with Air Jordans and added some bold accessories to enhance his style. Notably, he wore a paisley-print scarf, blacked-out sunglasses, and an ultra-rare rose gold Patek Philippe watch with a bezel featuring 36 baguette diamonds, a Tiffany stamp and an annual calendar feature. This watch is known as the Tiffany-stamped Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph and is crafted from 18-karat rose gold. The 5961R is at the confluence of haute horlogerie and precious materials. The watch features a chronograph function with a 60-minute and 12-hour mono-counter, a day-date window set on the 12 o’clock hour marker, and a day/night indication. The watch’s ebony black opaline dial pops against the radiant case with eight baguette diamond hour markers, making it a standout feature. Jay-Z’s Patek Philippe watch also houses a self-winding movement that runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph with a 55-hour max power reserve. He can view the calibre, dubbed CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H, through the openwork caseback where its 21-karat gold central rotor takes the main stage. The gold-over clasp, with another 22 diamonds, adds to the bling of the bezel.
A hand-stitched, matte-black alligator strap, meanwhile, enhances the watch’s sophisticated appeal. Given Jay-Z’s bonkers Patek collection, it’s no surprise that he’d want to show off his wrist candy more than once.
