The Goan paradise where art and space intertwine

Panoramic views of the sea, swaying coconut trees, and the scent of the salty sea breeze greet anyone walking into this Goan holiday beach house. Designed by Beyond Designs, a Gurgaon-based interior décor firm, the 8,000 sq. ft. home faces the picturesque Coco Beach. 

The décor is influenced by Beyond Design’s signature maximalist style, as well as the serenity of the sea. Blue and white shades of the Mediterranean intersperse with artworks and accent walls, to provide just the right pop of colour. The tranquil vibe of the home makes it the perfect space to unwind from hectic city life. Homeowners Richa and Anuj Malhan’s dream four-storey villa took the firm nine months to finish.  

The façade of the villa is in a Goan Portuguese-style school of design. 

A double-height ceiling lends a sense of openness to the living area, and a spiral staircase leads to the timber mezzanine that doubles up as a kid’s play space.  

 The living room is embellished with a carved wooden panel that transitions into a feature wall, accentuated by a mosaic-topped coffee table. 

 The bar lounge is decked with the Felix coffee table and chairs, and all the furniture is layered with brass detailing. 

The soothing tones of the master bedroom are accompanied by a royal four-poster bed and ornate wooden framed mirrors. 

Upholstery with unique prints, contrasting artwork with neon sparks of colour decorate the dining table area.  

The luxurious master bathroom features ornate mirror frames with an antique gold finish and a striped patterned flooring tile made using locally sourced pink and white stones. 

Another bedroom dressed in shades of white, blue and beige opens to the serene vistas of the beach and trees. 

The stunning fabric used on the frame of the bed and vintage trunk in the corner of room steals the show in this bedroom on the upper-level. 

This picturesque bathroom is furnished in black marble that beautifully contrasts with the lush green outdoors. 

The décor of this bedroom is centred around antique wall sconces and the eclectic headboard. 

The showstopper is a deck on the uppermost level, which boasts an infinity pool and stunning views of the sea. 

A charming outdoor bathtub is shrouded in privacy with the help of a canopy of tree branches and greenery. 

Tying everything together is the tangerine-coloured passageway in matte finish, punctuated by artworks collected by the owners and customised by Beyond Designs.
