The Tequilas taking the spirit beyond the party

My first introduction to tequila was when I downed four shots at my 18th birthday. The memory was a blur, and all I remembered was getting black-out drunk. Cut to five years later, I started to understand the spirit beyond the shots and salt, discovering its craftsmanship and complexity. From earthy roasted agave and warm oak to notes of vanilla, caramel, citrus, spice and subtle smoky undertones, tequila has its own world of flavours shaped by its terroir, ageing process and artisanal techniques.

With International Tequila Day around the corner, we explore some exceptional tequila brands that are redefining the spirit today. Read on.
