Visit Chatterjee & Lal and take a peek at their current exhibition, Lost In Space, which presents recent work by Minam Apang, Sahej Rahal, Gagan Singh and Nityan Unnikrishnan. The majority of the exhibits are small format paper pieces depicting the live and inanimate residents of strange realms. Creatures slither and crawl, bounce and bob; jungle vines and crash sites; deep space cities. The works are stylistically influenced by the comic book and graphic novel genres, and their subject matter is rife with black comedy. If we dig a bit further, we can find analogies for the present moment; for a planet, this world, lost in space.
