This home project in Gurugram is a mix of contemporary and classical elements

When it comes to interior design, balancing minimalism with hints of maximalism is a skill and one that Nivasa has perfected with this stunning family home in Gurugram.

Situated in the Magnolias apartment complex, the apartment was designed for a family of three and a loving pet dog. Every single detail in this home has been conceptualised keeping in mind the needs and preferences of each family member. The primary concept of the home is a modern aesthetic melded with classical details, retaining an elegant and sophisticated ambience. Minimalistic geometric forms are the primary choice for lighting pieces, while contemporary materials with soft textures occupy the rest of the home.

The entrance hallway, divided by a bespoke glass and metal door leads to a foyer which is connected to the living and dining area. The space is open and expansive with an abundance of sunlight pouring into the living room, offering panoramic views of the garden.

The living room is divided into two formal seating areas, both elevated with modern furniture. The first formal seating area features pastel-hued sofas with rounded corners while the second features sofas with a blue colour palette and modern silhouettes. A series of paintings and metal accents add richness and personality to the space.

The living room opens into the dining space in an open floor plan. A 6-person dining table takes the centre stage. For the dining area, the designers added a mix of old-world and modern aesthetics. A lavish bar crafted entirely out of pure brass sits near the other end of the dining table giving the room a leisurely dining experience.

There are a total of two bedrooms in the home, one master bedroom for the parent and a chic secondary bedroom for the daughter. The master bedroom has a regal neutral tone with grey and white tones. The bed frame is the main highlight of the room. Part of Nivasa’s own collection, the Canopy Contemporary Bed has an intricately designed headboard with a hand-crafted leather braid pattern intertwined into a large leather sheet along with a panelling of brass with a gleaming gold finish. The fold is a striking contrast to the grey, adding opulence to the room.

The daughter’s room takes on a mauve colour palette with pink furniture. Apart from the bed and a couch, the room also features a Circle of Life Swing from Nivasa. The swing is a fun addition giving the room a tranquil retreat-like ambience.
