This museum’s new mini series tells you all about art-inspired fashion

Fashion designers around the world have time and again sought inspiration from artworks and artists. From Iris van Herpen who once manifested Van Gogh’s Starry Nights on her ethereal ensembles to Gianni Versace’s iconic Spring 1991 collection that was greatly influenced by American pop artist Andy Warhol’s silkscreen painting of Marilyn Monroe.
Closer home, Ritu Kumar’s floral-heavy Spring/Summer’20 outfits looked at Indian sculptor Mrinalini Mukherjee’s MET exhibit Phenomenal Nature to convey artistic expressions.
Spurring up the conversation around art, design and fashion, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art has announced a unique mini-series Art x Fashion. It features celebrated experts of the Indian fashion industry Gauri & Nainika, Amit Aggarwal, Bandana Tiwari, Sanjay Garg, Ayushman Mitra, Kalyani Chawla and Isha Bhansali. It explores how art has driven their work and creations.
Here’s what one can expect from the upcoming series, which will broadcast on KNMA’s social media channels every Sunday at 5 pm.
