At one end of a garden, a family was playing badminton, some distance away a couple of friiends were celebrating a friend’s wedding and we, spread out on our chatai (mat), were playing Snakes & Ladders.
This entire experienece felt surreal for sometime. It felt strange to be out in the open, at a five-star hotel after several months of being cooped up in the house and seeing fellow human beings have fun.
It, nevertheless, was also extremely heart-warming to see fellow humans have fun and enjoy with each other, in a safe, outdoorsy environment, at a garden facing the Powai Lake, in Mumbai.
The staycation at The Renaissance Mumbai/Marriott Executive Apartment – Lakeside Chalet, is unlike any in the city for the hotels have a great outdoor area to chill at, interesting curated experiences for staycations, stylish accommodation, delicious food and heartfelt service. Moreover, they also let you check in with your pets, which makes the staycation experience more special.
The well-equipped Marriott suites make for a great place to spend some quality time with friends and family. They have two spacious rooms, a kitchenette, a dining area, a hall and the windows open up to the stunning views of the Aarey greens and Powai Lake. It is hands down one of the best views in Mumbai.
For those who like their holidays action packed, the hotel offers some interesting activities such as picnic by the garden, a movie-watching experience in a theatre room, complete with lounge sofas, and, my favourite, evening high tea, for which they serve a variety of chaats in the lounge. Can you ask for more?
They have recently introduced the Sundowner staycation package, which makes the most of the spectacular experience of seeing the sun drown in the Powai Lake in the evenings.
The package starting from Rs7,100 includes in-room continental breakfast, special evening service at the Lake View Cafe, 2 servings of beer or wine for up to 2 guests, 1 Sundowner snack platter and 15 per cent discount on food and beverage.
The food at the Lake View Cafe is every bit interesting. Their buffet spread has Hyderabadi, Punjabi, South Indian and Malaysian cuisines and big counters filled with all kinds of drinks and all kinds of desserts you can imagine – from a chocolate mousse to mango barfi and ice creams.
Overall, staycation at The Renaissance Mumbai gives you that much-needed break, and the lovely staff ensures that you have a memorable stay.
