Interview: Siddhant Chaturvedi talks about his association with Ulysse Nardin, his love for watches and more

Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has come a long way in his journey in Bollywood. Starting out as an outsider in the industry, he has proven his mettle as an actor, delivering awe-worthy performances in movies like Gully Boy. In addition to being a gifted actor, Siddhant has also become an inspiration for youngsters thanks to his free-spirited attitude.

Since 1846, Ulysse Nardin has been testing the limits of innovation and design with its range of exquisite timepieces inspired by the sea. Pushing the boundaries of watchmaking, the brand has written some of the finest chapters in the history of Haute Horlogerie. And now, along with their India Brand Ambassador, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ulysse Nardin unveiled their latest duo of timepieces, titled the Freak X.

In an exclusive interview with LuxeBook, Siddhant Chaturvedi spoke about his love for watches, his association with Ulysse Nardin and more.

How did your association with Ulysse Nardin come to be?

I’ve always been very passionate about watches. And so when Ulysse Nardin asked me to become the Indian Brand Ambassador, it was like a dream come true. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Ulysse Nardin family and I look forward to a long-term association with the brand. Ulysse Nardin is known to push the boundaries when it comes to their craft of luxury watch-making, something that resonates with my own ethos.

How do you feel about Ulysse Nardin?

I love Ulysse Nardin’s attitude – by attempting the impossible, one can achieve the impossible. You cannot stop exploring until you reach a new, heightened sense of comprehension. I follow the same motto in my personal life as well, #HustleSeHaasil. Along with its long history of innovation and tradition, I also believe Ulysse Nardin stays true to its original style in each of its creations.

How does your personal style resonate with Ulysse Nardin?

Style for me has always been about staying true to the classics while bringing in an element that contrasts my choices. I do, of course, like to experiment with my personal style every now and then, but the overall vibe always remains the same. Ulysse Nardin does the same with all of their collections.

Do you have a favourite Ulysse Nardin watch? 

The Freak X is my new favourite. Do you know it has a very adventurous way of telling time? It displays the time via a rotating movement. Moreover, since it is made of titanium, it is very light and the leather strap gives it quite an elegant look. What I love about it, is that I can pair this timepiece with any look, a casual relaxed day, a dressy evening or even a night out. Also, a special shoutout to the sapphire glass crystal which really brings out the essence of the watch.

Tell us about your love for watches.

I’ve grown up watching my father wear watches and I think that’s where my interest began. Since then, I’ve aspired to own the best timepieces. And now it continues to be an important statement in my day-to-day life. It is my second skin. I feel incomplete if I don’t have my Ulysse Nardin timepiece on.

Things to look for when buying a watch.

For me, a great watch highlights the personality of a person. While it is a personal choice, I prefer a simple classic watch that never goes out of style. Try to choose a watch that matches your personal style and is versatile. Something that you love and may not stop talking about endlessly when asked by someone.

One style trend you’re currently obsessed with?

For me, it’s the classics rather than trends. Style for me has always been about staying true to the classics while bringing in an edgy element of charm to pair with your personal choices. For example, I could totally make a style statement with a plain t-shirt, joggers and an exquisite timepiece from Ulysse Nardin.

One accessory according to you that can elevate any look?

I’m obsessed with the Freak X! I think it can elevate any look from AM to PM.

What does luxury mean to you?

Luxury to me is where fashion meets comfort. Classic, minimal and a statement without saying a word.

One item you absolutely love to splurge on?

I don’t think splurge is the right word but everyone should have a classic white shirt, a good old pair of blue denims and a luxury watch to make a statement.
