Orient Express Cruise, Silensea will be the world’s largest superyacht

When it comes to luxury hospitality, Accor never leaves us disappointed. And one is well-versed with the luxury train Orient Express, but what if we told you that Orient Express just announced its foray into the cruise industry? A new era of luxury is setting sail in 2026, as plans for the first Orient Express Cruise have been announced. The ship, Silensea will launch in  2026 and is touted to be the world’s largest sailing yacht and superyacht.

“With Orient Express Silenseas, we are beginning a new chapter in our history, taking the experience and excellence of luxury travel and transposing it onto the world’s most beautiful seas. This exceptional sailing yacht, with roots in Orient Expresshistory, will offer unparalleled service and refined design spaces, reminiscent of the golden age of mythical cruises. Innovation is at the heart of this ultra-modern ship that will revolutionise the maritime world with new technology to meet today’s sustainability challenges. It is a boat designed to make dreams a reality, a showcase for the best of French savoir-faire,” Accor Chairman and CEO Sébastien Bazin explained. 
Orient Express Silenseas consists of 54 suites and can accommodate 120 passengers. However, the jewel in the crown, and no doubt the most sought-after suite, will be the 1,215 square metre presidential suite complete with a sprawling private terrace overlooking the picturesque ocean.
Guests can also expect to enjoy various facilities and entertainment options. like a dedicated oyster bar, a cabaret, two swimming pools and a speakeasy bar. A tribute to artists and culture, Orient Express Silenseas will invite guests to experience incredible shows in its Amphitheatre-Cabaret and a private recording studio will give a voice to the most beautiful melodies. This unique travel experience, guided by the winds, will feature spa treatments, meditation sessions and stopover explorations to discover cultural treasures that allow guests to completely unplug from reality and stop time.

Staying true to the eco-friendly promise, the Orient Express Cruise, Silenseas will sail with a revolutionary technological design known as ‘SolidSail.’ This hybrid propulsion formula will combine wind power with a state-of-the-art engine running on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and plans to use green hydrogen launching a new, more environmentally friendly vision of sea travel.
The singular cruise ship will celebrate the Art of Travel à la Orient Express: the quintessence of luxury, absolute comfort and dreams. Get ready to come abraod the Orient Express cruise that is set to sail the Mediterranean riviera in the summer, with stops including Portofino, Capri and Saint Tropez, and the Caribbean in the winter. Reservations for Silenseas will in 2024.
