Veteran actress Rekha has always managed to wow us with her elegance and charisma. A true blue fashionista, the actress hails as one of the most iconic personalities in the industry. And now, Rekha has left us awestruck once again as she graces the cover of Vogue Arabia.
Reviving her regal era, the actress looked every bit a royal dressed in stunning gold ensembles. This was a milestone moment for Rekha, not only because it was her first Vogue cover ever, but also because this was her first interview in two decades. And the actress did not shy away from sharing her heart out, be it her absence from films or her views on love.

And while we love her wisdom and candour, it is her royal ensembles from the shoot that we really cannot get enough of! For the unaware, gold has come to be Rekha’s signature colour over the past few decades. Keeping in line with the grandeur of the colour and her royal persona, the actress was dressed in three exhilarating ensembles by India’s very own Manish Malhotra. And because its hard to pick just one, here’s breaking down three of our favourite looks from the Vogue Arabia shoot.
The first look took us back to the actress’ Khiladi days! A boss lady look that is chic and stylish. The outfit comprised a black turtleneck paired with a lavish vintage brocade jacket embellished with elaborate threadwork, sequins, and golden embroidery. A Mughal-inspired headgear embellished with gold zari and opulent Manish Malhotra jewellery completes the look.

Continuing the grandeur, the second borrows from Rekha’s love for Kanjivaram sarees. Here, the actress is seen dressed in a classic golden saree layered with intricate gold thread embroidery. The outfit is paired with a selection of statement jewellery, layered necklaces, bangles, earrings, diamond rings, mang tikka and joomar. Among the many pieces of jewellery, the actress wore a custom Van Cleef and Arpels necklace called the Maharaja, which weighs 161.62 carats and took almost 5,000 hours to create.

Blending cultures and aesthetics of the East and West, Rekha’s third look was a graceful muslin angarkha anarkali paired with an ivory churidar with golden borders and gold juttis. This look was very heavy on jewellery with the actress wearing a dramatic matha patti along with matching flower earrings and heavy gold and kundan necklaces.
