DLF Avenue has a new store – Perona, a leather fashion and accessories brand

Perona, a leather fashion and accessories brand by Shruti and Puneet Mangla has a new address in Delhi. Launched last week at DLF Avenue in Saket, this is the second store of the designer duo. The first outlet, opened in 2018, is at The Chanakya mall..

Before launching their own premium lifestyle label, they headed Orion, one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of leather-based apparel and bags in India.

Essentially, Perona is about the art of modern and aesthetically minimal designs turned into perfect wearables for men and women. It is a fine juxtaposition between flow and structured tailoring with an almost neutral color palette that transcends seasons and trends.

Take for example their latest collection ‘Phoenix’.

AFter months of no events, this store opened with an intimate evening soiree that included designers Atsu Sekhose, Kanika Goyal, Dhruv Kapoor and Amazon India’s Creative Director Manish Chopra.

Phoenix, the new Fall-Winter 2020 edit celebrates the idea of the shift from complexity to simplicity. Shruti and Puneet like to call it as a ‘manifestation of the aesthetics of subtraction’.

Womenswear and menswear, both, are created out of eco-friendly, upcycled and recycled materials. The added line of edgy but extremely sophisticated bags score a perfect ten in terms of no-fuss, business-friendly design.

Trench coats, jackets, jumpsuits, pleated skirts, high-neck dresses, blouses, capes and handbags for the new-age women and some dapper suede jackets, trench and classic leather briefcase, messenger bags and backpacks round up the Phoenix collection.

A fusion of sombre and dark hues such as blues, greens, maroon, grey, burnt coral colour the outfits.
