When it comes to the epitome of luxury cars, Rolls Royce firmly holds the top spot. Adding to its already exhaustive portfolio range, Rolls-Royce has introduced its latest masterwork, the Rolls Royce Droptail Roadster also named La Rose Noire. The two-door car promises an abundance of luxury. The coach-built Droptail Roadster follows on from the Sweptail introduced in 2017 and the Boat Tail that made its debut in 2021. The Droptail is a two-seat roadster and only four editions of the car will be available, making it a special one.

Priced at a jaw-dropping $30 million the car comes with an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak built into the dashboard. Rolls-Royce says that the La Rose Noire is inspired by romance and the allure of the Black Baccara rose. Furthering justifying the price, the car has a total of 1,603 wood pieces that are hand-finished and hand-placed over two years. Additionally, a new exterior paint process was adapted that took 150 iterations to achieve.

Specifications
The Rolls-Royce’s exterior design also features a few firsts, the Pantheon Grille and a unique, technological finish that is highly reflective. This new Rolls Royce Droptail Roadster can be highly personalized. The Drophead features a 6.75-litre V12 engine, producing 563 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and hits 155 mph at top speed. Rolls-Royce presents the Droptail as a dual nature vehicle – a roofless roadster or coupe with a removable hard top. The 22-inch alloy wheels feature the dark Mystery paint finish which appears black from afar, but upon closer examination, reveals its shimmering dark red undertones.

The exterior coachwork is finished in a lustrous and complex red tone, True Love, that captures the infinitely changing colours of the Black Baccara rose. To achieve this rich variation, a base coat was followed by five layers of clear lacquer, each blended with a slightly different tone of red. This completely new paint process was developed over 150 careful iterations. The petal pattern on the aft deck mirrors the interior parquetry. Two sail cowls frame the artwork, curving towards the occupants.

Another distinct visual accent is the custom Audemars Piguet 43 mm Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date. The special mechanism allows the timepiece to be removed from the wrist and then retreat deep down into the fascia of the car itself. The La Rose Noire also gets a specially curated Rolls-Royce Champagne Chest which opens at the press of a button, revealing an intricate champagne set consisting of hand-blown crystal champagne flutes.
