Tesla India Launches the Six-Seater Model Y L at ₹61.99 Lakh
India’s luxury electric mobility landscape enters a new chapter as Tesla unveils the all new Tesla Model Y L, a sophisticated six seater crafted for modern family lifestyles. Priced at ₹61.99 lakhs, the new flagship variant blends performance, technology and indulgent comfort in a format that promises to redefine the premium SUV segment.
Unveiled at Tesla’s Ballard Pier Downtown Experience Centre today in Mumbai, the Model Y L brings together striking design, intelligent engineering and immersive in cabin technology while maintaining the unmistakable minimalism that has become synonymous with the brand. At the unveiling, a few thoughtful details instantly stood out.
The powered armrests in the captain seats were a personal highlight for me, adding a surprisingly indulgent touch for middle row passengers, while the extended roofline subtly transforms the cabin into an airy, lounge like space. Together they signal that the Model Y L has been designed not just for mobility, but for comfort driven journeys.
A New Standard for Electric Family Travel

Engineered as the ultimate electric family vehicle, the Model Y L offers up to 681 km WLTP range, eliminating range anxiety on long family drives. With 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 201 km/h, the SUV delivers thrilling performance without compromising refinement.
The extended roofline has been carefully sculpted to improve aerodynamics, resulting in greater highway stability, improved range and a noticeably quieter cabin. A newly designed rear spoiler further enhances downforce, allowing the vehicle to remain planted at higher speeds while retaining Tesla’s signature efficiency.
Three Rows of Ultra Luxe Comfort
Inside, the Model Y L transforms the conventional SUV cabin into a thoughtfully designed lounge for six adults. The second row captain seats feature powered armrests, heating, ventilation and one touch folding, creating an indulgent middle row experience typically reserved for executive limousines. Passengers can recline up to 125 degrees, while the third row offers 110 degree powered reclining seats along with vented climate control.

With cargo capacity reaching 2,539 litres, the vehicle effortlessly accommodates both passengers and luggage, making it equally suited to city life and extended road journeys.
Adaptive Suspension for a Tailored Drive

Tesla’s refined chassis architecture introduces adaptive suspension with electronic damping, continuously adjusting to road conditions to filter vibrations and deliver superior ride quality.
Drivers can tailor the vehicle’s personality by selecting settings that prioritise either playful dynamics or relaxed comfort. The suspension tuning intelligently adapts for rear and middle row passengers, ensuring the entire cabin benefits from a smooth and composed ride whether navigating urban roads or cruising on highways.
A Concert Like In Cabin Experience

Technology remains at the heart of the Model Y L experience. The SUV features an 18 speaker plus one subwoofer immersive Tesla Audio system designed to create a concert like atmosphere inside the cabin. The system uniquely separates vocals from instrumentals, delivering extraordinary clarity whether streaming music or watching films.
Passengers can access an expansive digital entertainment suite including Netflix, Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, (and even Audible) transforming the vehicle into a mobile media lounge. Additional features such as live traffic visualisation, satellite view maps, dashcam viewer and remote vehicle control via the Tesla mobile app further elevate the connected car experience.
Expanding Charging Infrastructure Across India

Tesla continues to strengthen its ecosystem to support the growing EV community. The brand currently operates five Supercharger stations with 20 Superchargers and 14 Wall Connectors across India.Seven additional stations are planned along major highway corridors linking Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, ensuring seamless long distance travel.Owners also benefit from Tesla’s Home Charging Program, enabling convenient overnight charging across all Indian states.
Ownership Designed Around Simplicity

Tesla’s direct to consumer model focuses on a streamlined ownership experience. With minimal mechanical maintenance requirements, many vehicle updates and diagnostics can be handled through over the air software updates, reducing service visits. Existing service centres operate in Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi and Pune, with expansion planned in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad later this year.
Availability

Orders for the Model Y L are now open across India through Tesla’s official website. Customers can experience the vehicle starting 23 April 2026 at Tesla Experience Centres in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurugram, with the first deliveries scheduled for June 2026.
With its blend of luxury, performance and next generation connectivity, the Model Y L signals a decisive shift in how premium families may approach electric mobility in the years ahead.
