The Pininfarina Battista will be the fastest EV car

Fast and furious the world’s fastest-accelerating road-legal car is finally here- The Pininfarina Battista. While it might be in production, it’s already setting records. Performance figures for the Battista all-electric hyper GT, in a demonstration at the Dubai Autodrome in the United Arab Emirates ( where the Battista made its dynamic debut in the Middle East) left the crowd in awe making it the first EV that can zoom from zero-to-60 mph in just 1.79 seconds. That breaks the previous record of 1.86 seconds, which was set last year by the Rimac Nevera.  That isn’t the only acceleration record the car has set, either. It’s also the fastest from zero-to-120 mph,  in just 4.49 seconds and has also set a record for the fastest-braking EV in the world.

The Automobili Pininfarina Battista is the most powerful Italian car ever made, with 1,900 horsepower and 1,696 ft lbs of torque. The car has a top speed of 217 mph. “In Battista, we have achieved performance beyond our original, extreme targets,” said Paolo Dellacha, Pininfarina’s chief product and engineering officer, said in a statement.

What’s more? No two Battista models will be the same, every Battista hyper GT will be unique via an individual tailoring programme that elevates bespoke personalisation to new levels. Clients from all over the world can visit the Atelier facility in Cambiano, Italy, to enjoy the process of perfecting their own vehicle in the company of Battista designers. Further, Automobili Pininfarina’s entry into Saudi Arabia complements the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy which aims to build a more sustainable future. The purely electric car also has an emission-free philosophy that aligns perfectly with the ambition to accelerate the energy transition and achieve sustainability goals.

Although the Battista was first unveiled four years ago, it only went into production earlier this summer and is priced at $2.25 million. Pininfarina plans to build just 150 examples of its hand-built electric hypercar, each of which takes 1,200 hours to complete. Deliveries of the vehicle are already underway.
