Corsets

Itās safe to say that corsets have definitely taken over every fashion fiend’s closet and have now made their way to the runway. Designers definitely know how to stick with the current trends by incorporating the most loved one in their work. Arpita Mehta gave the corset a fun summer holiday twist in her showcase which featured a few patterns, sequins, and mirrors. While Mehta gave it a fun summer vibe, Tarun Tahiliani took the elegant luxe route. His showstopper Sobhita Dhulipala donned a modern age corset style concept saree which was uplifted with crystal highlights around the waist. Siddartha Tytler also incorporated corsets in his collection, but for men. In his collection 2085, Tytler styled the bight corsets over suits, giving it a very chic yet formal look.
Vibrant Hues

Itās official, bright colors are in! This year at Lakme Fashion Week there was never a dull moment on the runway. Designers took a chance with vibrant and neon hues instead of playing it safe with darker shades and I think we can all agree that they played the right card. Esha Amin, Siddartha Tytler, Arpita Mehta, Jajaabora, Bhumika Sharma, Namrata Joshipura and more showcased the most vibrant and fun collections at this yearās fashion extravaganza.
Heavy prints

Is there such a thing as too much print? I donāt think so. The yesteryear trend is back and is here to stay for a while. Nearly every showcase featured heavy and light prints.

While Esha Amin and Jajaabor had prints on fun and flowy outfits, Sahil Aneja, Two point Two, and Manish Malhotra went for a more streetwear look.
Capes, trench coats, and jackets

Other hits on the runway were the long flowy capes, stylish jackets, and chic trench coats. Sameer Madan, in his collection Untamed, featured a series of leather jackets and trench coats in femme fatal colors, red, black, and white, along with a little leopard print detailing. Rana Gil styled her showstopper Karisma Kapoor in a heavily detailed shimmery jacket, which was inspired by Italian landscapes. Namrata Joshipura brought us blazers with a post-modern disco twist!
Summer wear

While most designers showcased elegant gowns, Indian pret wear and streetwear, designers like Arpita Mehta, Limerick, Flirtatious by Aakriti, and Eshaa Amiin gave us airy kaftans, kaleidoscopic prints, and bright and vibrant colours to prep us for the summer. The collections featured flowy dresses which can be worn during the day and the night. Limerick and Flirtatious showcased beautiful and bright swimwear that is sure to make you stand out from the rest of the crowd.
Shimmer and Glitter
