Travel to space in Space Perspective’s Spaceship Neptune

Arushi Sakhuja
We’ve all had the desire to escape into space and experience what the world outside the Earth’s outer atmosphere looks like. Turning that dream into a reality, Florida-based Space Perspective’s new Spaceship Neptune allows individuals to travel to the edge of space for an out-of-the-world experience, literally so.

Taking off from Kennedy Space Center,  Space Perspective plans to take passengers up to 100,000 feet for sub-orbital adventures in a pressurized capsule suspended from an enormous high-tech version of a hot-air balloon. Spaceship Neptune’s ascent peaks above 99% of the Earth’s atmosphere at the edge of space.
A high-tech version of a spaceship, Spaceship Neptune is reminiscent of a massive balloon, about the size of a football stadium with a capacity of up to eight guests. The entire experience will take a total of six hours and at the peak of the journey, guests can get 360-degree views of the planet below.

The swanky interior lounge is built using sustainable materials, including a handcrafted bar. Plush reclining seating, interactive lighting and sound systems, customizable mood lighting, WiFi, a bar for sky-high toasts and sensors and screens offering in-depth scientific data about your flight will further add to the experience. Adding a warm touch of nature, the lounge also brings plants and herbs brought onboard such as lavender, basil and rosemary. The capsule also comes with a telescope and interactive screens, and even a luxe bathroom, complete with its own window looking out to space.

Spherical in design, with a splash cone that helps soften ocean landings, Spaceship Neptune’s structure is intriguing and impressive. The new design also ensures maximum safety and a phenomenal experience by providing a roomier interior with more headroom.
