Global smartphone market surges by 12%

The global smartphone market grew by 12% in Q2 2024, according to a Canalys research. The latest report shows that the smartphone market experienced strong growth in the second quarter, with total smartphone shipments reaching 288.9 million units, a 1% increase. Samsung maintained its position as the market leader, shipping over 53.5 million units, primarily driven by its 5G-capable A-series smartphones. Apple followed in second place, shipping 45.6 million units.

The Phone (2a) Plus is a new tech product generating a lot of excitement. It’s an upgraded version of the (2a) model, with a focus on performance, mobile gaming, and photography. The phone was released in India at a starting price of Rs 27,999. Key features of the smartphone include a MediaTek Dimensity 7350 chipset, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a Glyph design, and a 50MP dual rear camera. It’s worth noting that the base storage variant is available exclusively in India and comes in a grey colour.

The hottest gadget that is new in tech is the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series set to launch on August 13. Unveiling four new models, including a foldable smartphone, with advanced AI features and improved camera specifications. Reports suggest that the Google Pixel 9 series will include Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the smartphones will be launched in India on August 14. It will be available via Flipkart in India. What makes this an exciting new in tech update are the new features including Gemini AI integration, updated camera designs, and a variety of colours, an 8-inch display, 120Hz refresh rate, and a punch-hole camera, marking significant upgrades over its predecessor.
