Gold accents and royal motifs give this Chattarpur residence a royal look

12,000 sq. ft. of intricate opulence makes itself heard at this Chattarpur residence in Delhi. It is styled by designers Abhishek and Barkha Kathuria of Rosabagh, a design house that curates and crafts exclusive homes, furniture, and accessories. This estate was built for four members in the well-heeled locales of South Delhi.

The home is embellished with European motifs and resembles a luxurious French villa. Staying true to their brand name Rosabagh, the architects lavished the mansion with fusion heritage carvings, along with roses embossed in hardwood varieties like teak and oakwood.

In the 20-feet high lobby, the home’s regal ambience washes over visitors. Decorated in tones of green, gold and brown, the entrance also features magnificent armchairs covered in gold leafing. The chairs are sculpted with gryphon armrests; the gryphon is a legendary creature with an eagle head, a lion’s body and wings. This motif makes an appearance at the entryway to the home, as it was commonly associated in antiquity with guarding treasures and priceless possessions.

Going further into the home, one spots a statement piece, a crystalline 16-legged coffee table. This is surrounded by neutral-toned sofas with accents of gold and pink, all overlooking verdant grounds that wrap around the residence.

Adjoining this living area is another cosy seating area, armed with an Art Deco style fireplace. This nook is perfect for family game night or for enjoying a nightcap on a cold winter’s night.

On the ground floor is also the dining area, with a white-and-gold accented bar in the backdrop. The bar and the dining table are topped by matching luminous chandeliers, again polished in the home’s signature golden hue.

On the first wall, just past the stairwell, bespoke wallpaper designed for the home specially by Rosabagh paired with a colourful painting add a fun element to an otherwise regal home.

The master bedroom is decorated in subtle hues of beige, champagne-and-gold leafing details, with a pop of colour emanating from the maroon seating area. A standing lamp in the corner resembles a tree, the bark of which is coloured gold, while the branches are hanging with delicate lamps in shades of blue, green and blush.

On the first floor of the home lies the girls’ bedroom designed like a royalty’s abode. Inspired by the Netflix hit series Bridgerton, the room is designed to look aristocratic, and blush pink furnishings are spread across the walls, bed, footrest, and armchair.
