When the director of architectural and interiors firm, Design Deconstruct, Rishabh Kapoor, decorates his own home, the results are bound to be jaw-dropping. This luxury farmhouse in Chattarpur, Delhi, is the culmination of the owner’s individualistic style and “… opulent, yet practical,” says Kapoor. Monica Chadha, Director and Principal Designer, Design Deconstruct, worked with Kapoor to create the idyllic family home. “We aspire to create spaces which are a delight visually, but also relatively easy to maintain in the long run. Our focus was to have clean aesthetics and an uncluttered space,” she says.

The 23,000 sq. ft. farmhouse accommodates a family of four, has five levels, six bedrooms and baths as well as five powder rooms.

Farmhouse Entrance
The entrance is lined with plants and has an outdoor seating area for guests.

Entrance Foyer (Upper Ground Floor)
The entrance foyer is graced with a serene Buddha statue, placed against a backdrop of hand-made textured Indian marble, an area designed to welcome guests.

The first-floor entrance foyer has several statement pieces, including a red heron chaise with two malachite consoles and a spiral chandelier.

A floating crystal art piece glows over the 10-seater dinging table, which has been carved out of a single piece of white onyx.

The drawing room is adorned with paintings by senior artist Thota Vaikuntham, whose richly pigmented paintings capture the simple everyday lives of villagers in India.

The study is elegant yet eclectic with unique lighting fixtures and colourful book stacks adding to the design aspect of the space.

The en-suite bathroom of the son of the family is covered in a sea of grey and brown, interrupted by a plush blue settee.

A series of intricate artworks by Seema Kohli dresses the walls of the parents’ master bedroom.

The neutral palette of this sheesha lounge on the upper floor is decorated with an all-white sofa, interspersed with blue accents in the exposed ceiling, contrasting the epoxy flooring.

Renaissance-style paintings that hang from the ceiling contrast with modern life-size sculptures and artworks at the lower level in this home.

The farmhouse’s lower ground level hosts amenities such as a salon, a full-fledged gym with a steam and sauna.

A luxuriously appointed 10-seater home theatre decorated with red loungers is the preferred space for the family to unwind.

An indoor heated swimming pool is flanked by a textured wall with asymmetrically laid Indian marble on one side, and a statement-making sculpture on the other.

While this space is decorated with remarkable artwork, the pool table is the centre of attraction.
