If you’ve ever dreamed of living on a boat, here’s your chance to do it in style! We’re talking about the massive residential superyacht Njord.
Yachts, superyachts and megayachts have been getting bigger and mightier than the last for a while. However, we’re sure nothing beats the Njord superyacht which stretches to an impressive 948 feet.
The superyacht, developed by Ocean Residences Development will be built by German shipbuilder Meyer Werft.
What makes the yacht stand out, aside from its impressive size, is that it will be powered exclusively by carbon-neutral fuel, making it the first superyacht in the world to do so.
While the superyacht is slated to make its debut much later in 2026, Ocean Residences Development gave the world a sneak peek into the first collection of ten residences.
Luxury abode
On board, the yacht will have as many as 117 private residences which include 16 duplexes and triplexes. Each of these houses will be spaced across 1,500 square feet to 9,000 square feet and have anywhere between two to six bedrooms. The residences will be represented by global real estate brokerage The Agency, and are priced from USD 8.5 to 70 million.
The first ten residences on board have been designed by renowned interior designers, David Linley and Kelly Hoppen. Opting for a fresh, contemporary style, the designers have worked with colours inspired by the sea, used mirrors and glass that reflect the natural light. The spaces he created are jewel-box-like homes that prioritize views and glamour. Hoppen’s style for the residences is decidedly cosmopolitan with a pared-back, neutral colour palette that lets the views take centre stage.
In addition to Linley and Hoppen, the project has also roped in other designers and architects including world-renowned Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, Francesca Muzio, of FM Architettura, Taylor Howes, Sabrina Monteleone of Sabrina Monte-Carlo, and 1508 London, among others.
Lavish amenities
The yacht gets its name “Njord” from the Norse god of the sea and will sail the globe with journeys to Antarctica, the Mediterranean, and beyond. The idea behind the yacht according to the makers, was to give the residents an opportunity to have the trip they always wanted but from the comfort of their homes. The cost of ownership maintenance will be five per cent of the purchase price.
Aside from the luxury residences, the yacht is said to have some of the best amenities on board. These include a travel and excursion concierge, a Eurocopter 160 with an on-board hangar; four superyacht limo tenders, two dive and fishing boats, a yacht and sail club, and a dive centre. Residents can indulge themselves at one of the six world-class restaurants and bars, or relax at The Chenot Spa and Wellness Center or Chenot gym and fitness centre.
Additionally, the yacht also includes a concierge hospital, observatory, golf simulator, kids’ club, a gourmet market, shops, and a wine cellar with almost 10,000 wine bottles. There are also many terraces, the main pool, two outdoor pools, a nightclub and jazz lounge, and many nooks to enjoy.
