Yesterday, Apple let people preview its first-ever floating store, floating on the serene waters of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Said to be Apple’s most ambitious retail project yet, it is a design project conceptualised by architectural firm Foster + Partners. This new retail venue for your Macs and iPhones is a spectacular all-glass dome structure, fitted with 114 pieces of glass and 10 vertical mullions.

Once you step inside, you can see uninterrupted, 360-degree views of the upscale locale, skyscrapers and the panoramic sky. Needless to say, Apple promises its clients an unforgettable retail experience.

A magnificent disco ball at first glance, the store is accessible by a 45 meter long underwater tunnel that is connected directly to The Shoppers, Marina Bay Sands’ flagship luxury mall.

The interiors is as stunning as the façade. The oculus-shaped ceiling, floods in lots of natural light during the day. On floor, polished wooden table display booths are placed across the room.

A separate massive video wall has been created in the store to host sessions of ‘Today at Apple’ programme, which features creators, musicians and artists. Minimal timber furniture like small box seats have been scattered around the space.
