What’s the theme for MET Gala 2024?
Hold on to your glass slippers and sceptres, fashion enthusiasts, because the Met Gala 2024 is ready to sprinkle a bit of magic into the world of style! This year, we’re delving into the enchanting tale of “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” where fairy tales meet runway tales in a collision of elegance and escapade.
Renowned curator Andrew Bolton, the creative force behind the MET’s legendary fashion exhibitions, aims to rouse the sensory allure of the museum’s extensive collection, boasting over 33,000 previously unseen pieces. Talking about the enchanting theme of the upcoming gala, he said, “The theme of “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” is a celebration of the power of fashion to transform us. It is also a reminder that fashion is not just a reflection of our time, but also a powerful tool for shaping our future.”
When & Where Is It Happening?
Showcasing a train of some iconic costumes, the MET Gala 2024, as is customary each year, is all set to take place on the initial Monday of May, i.e., May 6, 2024. This timing is strategically chosen, considering a blend of factors such as the inauguration of the annual Costume Institute exhibition, the availability of designers and celebrities, and adherence to American fashion tradition.
Like every year, the 76th edition of Met Gala will unfold its glamour in the heart of the Big Apple, specifically at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The festivities will commence with the grand opening ceremony of the Costume Institute exhibition, paving the way for a gala dinner and a splendid fashion exhibition where guests marvel at the finest pieces.
