Taj marks its Continental Europe debut with Taj Hessischer Hof, Frankfurt
With a legacy spanning over a century, Taj Hotels has officially expanded its global footprint into Continental Europe with the opening of Taj Hessischer Hof, Frankfurt, a landmark restoration that revives one of the German city’s most storied luxury addresses. Open since June 1, 2026, the 126-key property represents more than a new international outpost for the Taj.

Situated opposite Messe Frankfurt and moments from the city’s financial district and cultural attractions, the hotel occupies the former Grandhotel Hessischer Hof, an iconic property that has welcomed royalty, diplomats and discerning travellers for decades. The restoration, led by JOI Design, preserves the building’s aristocratic character while introducing a contemporary aesthetic through curated artworks, tactile materials and understated Indian influences that echo Taj’s design philosophy.
The hotel offers 126 elegantly appointed accommodations, including nine suites across Deluxe, Grand Luxury and signature categories, combining classic European proportions with modern comforts. Business travellers are equally well catered to with three sophisticated event spaces and The Chambers, Taj’s exclusive members-only business club, extending the brand’s signature networking experience to Frankfurt.

Dining forms a central pillar of the guest experience. Bombay Brasserie makes its Continental European debut, bringing the vibrant flavours of Mumbai alongside select European classics, while the legendary Jimmy’s Bar returns as one of Frankfurt’s most celebrated cocktail destinations, with live piano performances, premium spirits and an extensive cigar selection.
Wellness remains intrinsic to the Taj experience through J Wellness Circle, where you’ll find treatments rooted in Ayurveda are complemented by sauna, steam facilities and a fully equipped fitness centre.
Commenting on the opening, General Manager Albert Mayr said, “Taj Hessischer Hof draws from its aristocratic provenance, thoughtfully reimagined for today’s traveller. We are proud to reintroduce this living legacy, blending European heritage with the essence of Indian hospitality.”

Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO, IHCL, added, “Established in 1903, Taj is a legendary symbol of timeless hospitality. Recognised as World’s Strongest Hotel Brand 2025, it is a unique collection of 150+ hotels across 15 countries offering an unrivalled fusion of Indian hospitality and world-class service. The opening of Taj Hessischer Hof Frankfurt marks Taj’s debut into Continental Europe, in line with our international strategy to grow our presence in key gateway cities of the world. We are delighted to reopen this iconic landmark following its extensive renovations and bringing the warmth of Tajness to Frankfurt.”

The room rates begin at approximately €300 per night, and its location also places guests within easy reach of Frankfurt’s museums, luxury shopping districts and green spaces, while the nearby Rheingau wine region makes for an effortless day excursion.
