Tesla’s hypercars are as impressive as they get, but the upcoming Cybertruck is an adventure on its own! The highly anticipated Tesla Cybertruck was announced back in November 2019, but a shortage of components resulted in a two-year delay in production. Nonetheless, Tesla is ready with its very first Cybertruck model making its way out of the factory with the very first model out on the road.

Durability at its best
One thing to know about the Cybertruck is that it is no ordinary pick-up truck. Ever since its announcement, Elon Musk tweeted about the Cybertruck’s performance and design, which he stated would look like something from the movie Blade Runner. And looking at the vehicle now, we can’t deny its futuristic, sci-fi design.

Promising durability at its best, the Cybertruck is built with an exterior shell made from an “impenetrable” structural skin of Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless steel paired with Tesla’s supposedly unbreakable armour glass. The ultra-strong glass and polymer-layered composite are said to be able to absorb and redirect impact forces which can improve performance and damage tolerance.

Power-truck
The powertrain options in the Tesla Cybertruck include one, two and three electric motor options. The single-motored model claims to go from 0-100kph in 6.5 seconds, with a claimed range of 402 km. While the payload capacity is 1,360 kg, the vehicle is said to be able to tow up to 3,400kg. The dual-motor option goes from 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds and has a towing ability of 1,100kg to 4,500kg. The third variant uses Tesla’s latest tri-motor Plaid EV powertrain, and has a range of 804km, with a towing capacity of 6,350kg.

The Cybertruck has adjustable ride height adaptive air suspension. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, claims that the truck can raise or lower the ride height by up to 4 inches, with a maximum ride height of 16 inches. Tesla claims there is over 2,800 litres of lockable storage space, including the covered load bay as well as space in the “frunk” and sail pillars. The load bay is 6.5 feet long and has a raisable top. Up to six adults can fit inside the Cybertruck, which has a modern dashboard with a 17-inch tablet-style display.
