The World’s Most Magical Christmas Markets to Wander in 2025
Ever since I was a kid, Christmas meant waking up to Santa’s gifts magically appearing under my pillow, courtesy of my mother who moonlighted as the most dedicated Santa I’ve ever known. Even after the big secret got out, the spell never really broke. If anything, my obsession with the season only grew (second only to my birthday, which conveniently arrives right after).
If you’re someone who’s equally obsessed with Christmas and lucky enough to be travelling during the holidays, here’s a guide to the most magical Christmas markets around the world. Trust us, these are worth braving the cold, the crowds, and the mulled wine hangovers for.
Bath Christmas Market, England

The Bath Christmas Market is one of England’s most celebrated festive experiences, set against the UNESCO-listed backdrop of Bath Abbey and the city’s Georgian architecture. Running for over two decades, it brings together more than 150 chalets showcasing handcrafted gifts, local artisanal produce, and seasonal food from independent makers across the South West. If you’re planning to stop by, wander the cobblestone streets lit with warm fairy lights, sip mulled wine, and enjoy live choir performances that echo through the historic squares. Known for its strong emphasis on sustainability and supporting small businesses, the Bath Christmas Market has become a quintessential winter pilgrimage for travellers seeking an authentic, old-world British Christmas.
WeihnachtsZauber Christmas Market, Berlin

Each December, the historic square of Gendarmenmarkt transforms into WeihnachtsZauber, which is a magical blend of lights, crafts, gourmet food, and festive cheer. In 2025, the market runs from November 24 to December 31, returning to its traditional home after a few years away. Wander among beautifully illuminated stalls set against the gothic spires of the German and French Cathedrals and the elegant façade of the Konzerthaus, a backdrop that adds historic grandeur to every stroll. Inside the market, you’ll witness artisan tents bringing tradition and craftsmanship to life with wood carvers, glass-blowers, candle-makers and tailors showcasing handmade gifts. Food and drink play a big part of the festive vibe, so make sure you indulge in the gourmet stalls and festive restaurant setups serving Bavarian, Austrian and Bohemian-inspired menus.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, London

First launched in 2007, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has grown into a full-scale winter festival featuring the UK’s largest outdoor ice rink, built around Victorian bandstand architecture, along with over 200 Bavarian-style market stalls, artisanal food pop-ups, and themed bars. The event runs from November to early Janurary, and is known for its headline attractions like the Giant Wheel, the Magical Ice Kingdom, which is an award-winning sculptural ice experience kept at –10°C, and adrenaline rides such as Ice Mountain and Munich Looping, the world’s largest portable rollercoaster. While families flock to Santa Land, nightlife seekers gravitate towards the Bar Ice, Thor’s Tipi, and live music tents.
Tuileries Garden Christmas Market, Paris

Set to be one of Paris’s most festive winter highlights, the Tuileries Garden Christmas Market is transforming the historic gardens between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde into a sparkling holiday village. Known as La Magie de Noël, the market typically brings together over a hundred artisanal stalls offering French regional delicacies, handcrafted gifts, and gourmet treats, everything from Alsatian pretzels and vin chaud to decadent chocolates and festive pastries. Visitors can expect an illuminated Ferris wheel, charming carousels, and classic amusement rides, making it as much a family-friendly fair as a cultural winter experience. If you’re visiting Paris soon, you can’t miss experiencing the Christmas magic in the form of traditional Noël cheer, the breathtaking backdrop of the Tuileries, and the scrumptious Parisian food.
Hibiya Park Christmas Market, Tokyo

The Tokyo Christmas Market in Hibiya Park draws inspiration from the centuries-old German Weihnachtsmarkt. Set against the backdrop of Hibiya’s historic gardens, the market features an authentic German-style Christmas pyramid, one of the largest in Japan, along with rows of wooden chalets selling handcrafted ornaments, mulled wine, stollen, sausages, and festive décor. Don’t forget to enjoy live choirs, brass bands, and illumination displays that transform the park into a cosy European-style holiday village. Popular with both locals and travellers, the market blends Tokyo’s love for seasonal experiences with old-world European charm.
World Christmas Market, Singapore

This year, the World Christmas Market returns bigger and brighter than ever, transforming Singapore’s Bayfront Event Space into a 20,000-square-metre winter-festival wonderland under its reimagined banner Togetherland by World Christmas Market. Running from 11 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the event invites visitors to wander through nine immersive zones inspired by one of Santa’s reindeer. In what promises to be a feast for the senses, you can stroll through festive aisles at Prancer’s Star Bazaar, sip mulled wine or themed cocktails at Dasher’s Festive Feast, delight in cheeses, chocolates, and holiday treats at Comet’s Global Market, and dip into whimsical photo-ops along Candy Cane Lane.
