Tech giant Apple has opened two new stores in India. The store in BKC, Mumbai opened on April 18 while the store in the national capital Saket opened on April 20. The flagship in Mumbai’s BKC is not only a technological marvel, but also the most sustainable Apple store in the world, with zero reliance on fossil fuels for its operations. 
Audi India sales doubled in Jan-March 2023 quarter

The luxury carmaker Audi reported an over two-fold jump in sales in Jan-March 2023 quarter. The marquee said it witnessed the sale of 1,950 units as compared with the same period last year (862 units in the first quarter of 2022).  The brand with the four rings is on a growth path with 60% of its sales coming from SUVs in Q1 2023. There is also a  continued strong demand for sports cars including the Audi RS e-tron GT, Audi e-tron GT, Audi RS5 Sportback, Audi S5 Sportback and sedans like Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8 L. Mr Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said, “We have witnessed strong growth of 126% in Q1 2023 compared to the same period last year. Our product line-up boasts of sixteen models and we currently have the strongest-ever SUV portfolio contributing to over 60% of our total sales (in Q1, 2023). The newly launched Audi Q3 and Audi Q3 Sportback are witnessing strong demand from across the country. We are on a growth path and are confident of a bullish performance through the year 2023.”

One of the most noteworthy news highlights from the luxury automobile world is the announcement of Merecedes-Benz’s new fully electric Maybach featuring a 600 km range. Maybach offers three different options of sustainably processed Nappa Leather tanned using vegetables throughout the interior, including the rear reclining seats that include massaging functions and a “feel-good atmosphere and cocooning effect for all senses.” ⁠ The EQS680 will supposedly be priced at US$200k⁠.⁠

One of the biggest news highlights for the week is Sabyasachi’s largest yet flagship store that opened in Mumbai on April 15. The store is located at the landmark building at Horniman Circle, Mumbai and it resembles a museum more than a store. Sabyasachi’s signature cultural savoir-faire is merged with Indian decadence, craftsmanship and history. Housed within the store are exhibits, hidden lounges and dens on each floor and a tearoom tucked away behind silk velvet drapes. From clothing to accessories and jewellery, it is the largest showcase of Sabyasachi jewellery in the world and also brings the brand’s international collection to India for the first time.

Louis Vuitton will showcase its pre-fall runway show in Seoul, South Korea on April 29 over the Hangang River on the Jamsugyo Bridge, with Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director of Netflix’s hit series ‘Squid Game,’ has been appointed as a creative adviser for the set design. The show marks one of the first initiatives of new Louis Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari, who took up the role in February.

Marvel and Swarovski have collaborated to launch a new jewellery and home collection with each piece inspired by an iconic Marvel comic book character, captured with exceptional savoir-faire and attention to detail. The collection includes eight jewellery pieces from rings and pendants to five crystal figurine collectables, and a set of stickers inspired by Marvel Super Heroes: Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, and the Hulk.
